Like Keyshawn said on TV - you never know the real reasons for the release of a player. None of this excuses Werder from his ridiculously bad journalism. Werder, however, would do VERY well with the National Inquirer or TMZ.

The TO fan club won't admit it, but Werder was probably dead on. So were those who reported that most of the organization wanted TO gone. It's obvious this wasn't easy for Jerry.

Key was actually way nicer than he should have been.

I'm not saying Werder was 100% on this but............ owens IS gone.

Am I in the right place? Is this the official THC celebration thread? :laugh2:

Yes, Dave... if you say TO is going to get EVERY year mixed in with TO is going to cut in the middle of the years then eventually you have a chance to be correct.

Bingo. Bango. Bongo!

The whole idea that the media is always 100% wrong has always been foolish. I'm not the biggest Werder fan but when anyone in his position speaks the story may not be 100% accurate but where there is smoke their is fire.

That would be true. Except I didn't do that year one and two.
Cmon Mick, celebrate with me. It's a great day.

Yeah but by using that kind of reasoning, you're making a huge leap of faith...and leaving out all of the unknown details in the middle.

What about Owens' 8 games last season with less than 50 yards receiving?
What about all of the games Owens couldn't beat 2nd and 3rd string DBs to get open?
What about Owens' age and roster spot limiting the progression of younger players?
What about Owens' count against the salary this year and the next?

I'm just throwing a bunch of things out there that might have had something to do with him being cut that don't involve anonymous sources talking to Ed Werder at Valley Ranch. Whether or not Owens was ever here and even moving on from now, I STILL don't want Werder reporting on this team. He can go somewhere hot and fiery, and take Sal Paolantonio with him.

Owens with the Cowboys or not is not a reason to celebrate.
This team concerns me. Its been too long and that is the bigger picture for me.

I dont like Jerry and his meddling.

I didnt say you said that Dave(although if I dug enough you probably did and I could find it) lmao

I was commenting on the title of the thread. Werder and the journalists.

none of the running backs matter when we can't run block without the threat of a passing game they'll be real hard to stop..:bang2: Witten will see more coverage then he's ever seen and Roy has proven nothing and don't even get me started on Austin who's caught less NFL passes then his Jersey number. This will be a season full of 2 yard runs on 1st and 2nd an incomplete pass or pick on 3rd then if we're lucky a punt on 4th

but don't let reality come in the way of you celebration and delusions on how good this team is now that we're rebuilding again

I think Jerry had to be talked into this one. I don't think owens production was all his fault and I loath the guy.
There was allot to the locker room problem thing and every one but Jerry knew it.

There were just enough voices in Jerry's ear to make him pull the trigger. Stephen being the loudest. There is hope fellas, Stephen Jones.

What gets me is that we cut TO because he was complaining that we were playing like crap and losing games and he wanted to help change that.

Bottom line: We have a QB that couldnt get him the ball.

So which team will you be following now that TO is gone?

Best wishes.

Something had to change about this team. I am not saying it were the right thing or not, but something had to change.

I don't buy it. Any one who thought owens WAS the Dallas Cowboys IS just an owens fan over being a team fan. He WAS a great player. He WAS a major problem.

He's GONE ( god I love typing that :D ) and his ego GOES with him.

Romo will be better for it.

Good one.

Unlike THC. I dont need Owens to be a Cowboy(or in their case to NOT be a Cowboy) to be happy.

I have said it many times. Its about this team and its success or lackthereof.

Are you one of the ones who said they would not watch the Cowboys if they signed TO?

So... are you back now? :laugh1:

**** you, i've been a Cowboys fan all my life the fact that i'm not jumping for joy over the team becoming worse somehow makes me a bad fan?

I really hope you like 6-10 seasons cause that's exactly where we're heading and i don't see how any "fan" can be happy enough to gloat about something like that
