So we pretty much have to go DE-CB or CB-DE now...

I've got an idea! How about bring back Hardy and JG get a freaking backbone and control the locker room if he has any outburst! What a novel coaching idea.

I couldn't agree more! Jimmy had a ton of players like hardy. If garett can't handle one, he might not be fit for the position

This team does not need a CB in the first two rounds of this draft.

This Ramsey talk is very disturbing. He is not on a Deion Sander's level. The team needs to draft a talented QB, WR, DT, DE, RB, RT, & LB.

you can always trade back to get an extra pick for a 1 tech or safety

I still think that the crazy FA money makes it more likely that we trade down from 4 to draft additional players on the first two days.

Why is those positions we have to go now?

You guys act like Vernon and Janoris were the only players left in free agency haha

Vernon and to a slightly lesser extent were the only real pass rushers in FA. So yea, from that perspective, FA has ended for fixing that problem.

It is! Been saying this all offseason. Ramsey isn't Deion, and Jack isn't Ray Lewis. Top 5? No way José! But our scouts love them some corners!

At some point the FO has to realize that drafting CBs in the first round is not a good strategy. None have panned out, and at some point they have to start thinking that its not the players. Jenkins, Claiborn, Jones, Carr, (in FA), all valuable resources spent on them with little to no results. But yeah, let's spend another early first round pick on another one this year. Same with DE, 2 second round picks and a 4th in the past 2 years. Let's go get another one.... Meanwhile, S, WR, and RB keeps getting ignored. Brilliant planning and strategy. This is one reason there is little quality depth on this team. Take a couple of CB with the 12 6th round picks they have, they'll probably play on par with out high round CBs. Meanwhile we can have the battle of the Moore's for back up QB.

A bit early to be writing the book on Byron Jones right?

And the scouts should be terminated. There is no way that Ramsey is that talented. He is overrated.

This team will repeat history again if a cornerback is selected in the first round. You can find good CBs in rounds three through five. Case-in-point Scandrick and Sherman.

Sure, but we used a first round pick on him last year, do you really think we need to spend another one on a CB again this year?

And you can find busts at CB in the 3rd and 4th rounds and find stud CBs in Round 1. Crafting your draft philosophy because you failed at a certain position in previous drafts is what would be idiotic.

OK so what's that go to do with you basically saying that Jones was a failed first pick?

Plus, Jones is likely moving to FS anyway so you can use another CB. If they staff sees a CB in the first round they like and he's highest on their board, they should take him.

What is idiotic would be repeating history and investing too much in a unit (secondary).

You take the BPA at 4. If that's Ramsey, you take him. If it's Bosa, you take him.

This ain't tough to figure out. Frankly, I have my doubts that Bosa fixes the pass rush anyway.

Taking a guy off your board because you failed when you took Claiborne is just silly.

What's silly is drafting an overrated CB like Ramsey. I would rather take a talented RT or RB than taking Ramsey.

By the way I'm not a fan of Bosa either. Personally the top rated players on board in my opinion are not worth it. I prefer a trade down.

Selecting a CB who is not that talented at the postion is not smart.

The team evaluations of CBs lately have been putrid so why repeat history again? Ramsey was not impressive last season.
