So, What's Our Biggest Need Now?

I see a lot of mock drafts that still have us going DL in the first - and sometimes 2nd - rounds. I agree that DL is still a significant need, even with Hardy, but is it our biggest need at this point? After losing Carter and Durant, and now possibly McClain, how big of a need has LB become? And what about CB and RB?

I'm not one to say "we to draft a (insert position here) in the first round." I'm more of a "follow the board" type. But if we have a player from each of those positions at roughly the same spot on the board when it's our turn to pick at 27 (or whenever we end up picking), which one would you go with?

DL and CB IMO. If they can't trade down and Gurley and Gordon are gone. I think they will look at OO, McKinnley or Kevin Johnson. Can't wait for the visits to start, that will really clear things up.

I like the player - OO. But every time I see a pic of him, he reminds me of EE. is OO another EE ?

I've been saying it for some time now - if the Cowboys have any hope of contention this next year, they have to figure out a way to replace Demarco's production and I don't think that guy is on the roster right now.

CB and RB imo. We need a dominant running game to take it physically to teams + it helps our defense + it saves Romo from once again having to be the savior. I do believe if McFadden can stay healthy he's is good for at least 13-1,400 yds this yr behind this oline. I still want one of the top rb's though just for insurance purposes.

With the exception of OL, WR, and QB we need bodies everywhere so BPA (with emphasis on DL, CB and RB).

Hardy isn't currently a Cowboy after this year, so yeah, DL, can go DT first perhaps, but still DL, then CB, then LB, then RB

I'd argue that CB is our biggest need. Carr is bad. Claiborne is bad. We have Orlando Scandrick and nobody.

CB
DT
RB
LB
Hope we trade out of the first round at pick up some picks.. with all theese holes.
And i don't feel good about going RB in the first round, looking at recent drafts, the value is much better in the 2-3 round!

Assuming nobody gets hurt, DT.
We don't have a proven guy in the middle of the line to put next to Crawford, we have jags and potentials with upside and hope. I do like McClain #2 and Brent but I'm not sold we can rely on either one anymore. Bishop is a sub-jag but he does have upside. Coleman looked really good early on but ever since he hurt his calf he disappeared. The rest of the guys need more time.

If a starter goes down: QB, DE, OT, CB, MLB, S, and another DT.

The next tier would be: RB, G
I believe we can get by with RB by committee and Bernadeau is starting to get long in the tooth as a backup. He's good enough in a pinch but for how long remains to be seen. Leary is also good enough but I would always look for an upgrade when your guy has a "condition."

Having said all that we need a return guy that can make plays and score or threat to score.
Tempted to spend a 4rth or 5th on this spot. Special teams is like 15-25% of your game..

We can use upgrades in a lot of key areas and I believe we are prime to go BPA in the positions I listed above or trade down.
