So where did Drew Bledsoe go?

What is the deal with all these Drew Bledsoe haters...I mean damn...he is a statiscal leader in most categories all-time....Ya he leads in a couple bad categories but overall he is a H.O.F player...He is the one who got the Pats to the SuperBowl when Brady was hurt...He deserves some respect...I just noticed that most people hate him.....WHY???:star:

Bledsoe isn't a Dallas Cowboy. You are off topic my friend and I hate you for it. :grrr:

why do we need (2) threads on this? do some people EVER check for "simular" threads before busting an old move all over again?

Drew was a class guy here... I can't for the life of me see why people take pop shots at him... I mean we did have the likes of QC and Hutch right before him... I personally appreciate him for what he was... lol better than previous QBs...

Was Drew really any classier than Hutch or Henson or even Vinny? We know all about QC. Drew was obviously better on the field than Hutch or Henson. That doesn't mean he was any classier than those guys.

I am not saying Drew wasn't class in Dallas. He was for the most part. There were maybe two cases of a loss of class. One being the home game against the Eagles in 2005 when he and Keyshawn got into it. Both were dumb in that instant. The second being when he got pulled for Romo. His reaction of it being a bad choice. I understand he was a competitor, but he should have said nothing. It was a little classless to say what he did at the time. Like I said, those were probably the only two instances. The rest of the time he was a class act. Hutch and Henson seemed to be class guys as well. They questioned their roles, but what young hungry guy isn't.

I had no problem with him walking at the end of the year. He doesn't want to be a back up and I don't think he is suited to be a back up. It is a different mind set. Drew needs many reps to be at the top of his game. The top of his game is not very good any more. He won't get many reps as a back up. I don't like that combo. His departure suited both him and Dallas. Not that Brad Johnson is a great QB, but he is suited and used to being a back up QB.

I don't hate Drew. I hate the mis-perception that he is a HOFer. Good QB. Good guy. Not great. Not a HOFer.

If he wanted, the Viking are in QB doo doo now. He can re-united with Henson.

You really shouldn't even hate that. Realistically, even if you don't believe he belongs in the HOF, you have to admit his stats are at least worthy of consideration - at least debateable, and when anyone reaches that level there naturally are going to be those who weigh certain things more or look at things somewhat differently and take sides. It's natural.

If we were talking about Neil Lomax as a HOF candidate that would be different.

I don't hate him nor like him, to me, he was alright but knew he wan't the answer at QB position. I'm not so sure he is a HOF material. He does have some numbers but there are number that works against him, like TD to INT ratio, completion percentage, YPA, QB Rating...etc and of course him not winning SB doesn't help his cause.

Don't tell me how to feel. I hate you. Just joking. Hate is such a strong word. I don't truly hate that people tout Drew for the HoF. I do get annoyed by it because it is usually followed by a case closed or other phrase. I like Drew. Was a fan of his during his first few seasons. I didn't want him coming to Dallas because I knew he was not the answer whether short term or long term. I saw it as a waste of time because his good years were behind him.

I just miss seeing all the sack's last year and saying ahhhhhh here we go again at every game, he seemed like a nice guy so no hating on my part...what was Bledsoes Q/B rating last year?

I knew "hate" wasn't your true emotion, and I certainly share your feelings about people who won't recognize the difference between an opinion and a fact.

That kind of thing is when I tend to get irritable on these threads, when people claim what is really just an opinion is an indisputable fact.

Bledsoe's credentials are debateable, but there is no clear cut, indisputable conclusion to be made about his HOF chances.

In my mind he wont make it, mostly because he never won the ultimate prize (Super Bowl). His stats would be enough for the HOF if he had done that, but without it his stats are probably not enough.

I personally liked the signing though, because I never saw him as a savior or a guy to carry us into the future. It was clear that we needed to find a younger QB to be that guy, but a younger QB was unlikely to be ready to win games right away, so I viewed Bledsoe as an interim guy that had a chance to help the team succeed until the long term solution was ready.

that's a good and likely accurate analogy, i just *hated* that road and viewed it as putting off the future. romo ready? who knows who knew. Bp was signing BP players left and right and to me just wanted his own boys in here whether romo was ready or not.

i was ready to give it a shot at the time and just felt bledsoe was not the direction this team needed to go and parcells was just getting more of his own boys in line for ONE MORE RUN!!! at a title.

i never hated drew at the time but i sure got tired of all of his "fans" shoving him down our throat at any given opportunity in here.

I think it was pretty obvious Romo wasn't ready when we signed Bledsoe. When looking at the preseason games he played he went from his first season looking like a scared rabbit to his second season still looking very nervous but like there was potential to maybe develop into a backup, and that's when we signed Bledsoe - when he still looked nervous and raw despite seeing some develoment. There was no way we could think he was ready at that point - hell, more people probably still saw Henson as the guy.

Then in his 3rd season, Bledsoe's first, there appeared to be potential for more than that. He was progressing, without a doubt. His 4th season seemed to really be the best time to give him a shot - anything before that would have been major gambling and wishful thinking.

I think he is moving to DC and will be working there.

Mind you he will not be working for the Skins, but you know those statues have to be taken in for repair sometimes...someone has to fill in.

I think he is in the process of retiring. He moves so slow that his retirement is not yet official. :laugh2: Just kidding.
He patted his retirement papers several times before being able to decide what to do with them, them eventually put them in the wrong pile.
