Two starters who will have little impact on this team.

Unless Carpenter can rush the passer ... the pick was a waste.

Um we have a pass rusher named Ware the other lb has to be able rush the passer and stop the run. We could not stop the run last year when we needed to so before you go off half cocked about pass rush lets not forget when AL and Dat went down other teams started running on this team at will. If you can not stop the run it does no good to have a great pass rusher. On to the pass rushing if you watched the highlight clips Carpatner took snaps at Ohio in a 3pt stance rushing the passer and got sacks plus he is good against the run that is why he was drafted over Lawson we need the guy to do both and BC was the better player on the other side of Ware. See we drafted a versatile LB instead of a DE tweener that no one knows if he can pass cover and was not a great run stopping de

LB's who can stop the run are a dime a dozen. "All Around" LB's are found all over the draft.

We need impact at #18. I'm not sold Carpenter can provide that impact. Same applies to AJ Hawk. First round LB's better be able to rush the passer and apply pressure ... otherwise, they provide no value.

I'm not interested in the 3-4 vs 4-3 nonsense. A LB is a LB. Pittsburgh won with LB's found on the 2nd day. So did the Patriots.

The key to stopping the run is the DL. A first round LB must be able to apply pressure.

it's hard to know what they were thinking at the time.
maybe the Cowboys really wanted Colledge but he was picked 2 picks before theirs so they settled with Fasano. on the 3rd pick, perhaps they wanted Stovall but their pick was too high for him. they traded down, but Tampa picked him 2 picks before.

Vela seems to think the Fasano pick is good because Hannam was signed for depth and Fasano may even start in the 2 TE O. and Goose has Hatcher as 88 we got him at 92.

well, let's hope day 2 is as good as last year. we got our 4th back, our 5th, 2 6s and 2 7s.
