So, why the rush to get Tnew for Sunday?

I don't git it.

Yes, TNew is needed.
But better to keep him out longer -- one or even two games -- and ensure his recovery than to rush him in and chance a longterm injury.

Chicago has crafty receivers, but isn't its offense 30th in passing?
Conversely, and ipso facto contendo, ours is that bad in pass defense.

Whatever, men.

Don't rush TNew back sooner than absolutely necessary.

I agree-we shouldn't rush him back.

However-it's up to T-New-if he says he can't go, so be it-let him rest up. If yes, then good.

No rush but if he feels he can play then let try a couple of series to see how he feels.

Didn't he have a chance to play 2 weeks ago? I don't think we're rushing him at all.

But if he's ready to go now, why keep him on the sideline??

Teams that play as if they're scared of the injury bug don't win a whole lot...

Wonder if he'll take a shot? Am concerned about TNew. We need him in good shape. And we need to stop dissing Grossman cause he could come out and have a great game; he does once and a while.

TNew has stated he isnt coming back unless he is 100%

Also side note, I was at the game Sunday and Newman was running in shorts on sidelines pretty well.

Newman looked pretty good on TV last Sunday when he ran out onto the field after and INT and jumped on a player. Looked to have a lot of spring in his step.

A little more than a month at this point.

This isn't a large muscle we're talking about... sooner or later the thing has to heal.

Newman and the staff will allow him to play when he feels ready to go. Hopefully it is this coming game if not then we wait another week. I don't see anyone rushing him back but I also don't see them holding him out if he can go.

When he can run and plant with little pain he will be on the field it could be months before this injury will allow him to be 100% pain free.

That's pantywaste talk. I don't think anyone in the NFL plays through a season "100% pain free". I doubt that's what Newman is waiting for, he's probably just waiting until he feels he can play at 100%. But Newman at 75% is better than Jacque Reeves at 100%.

I've heard that also. At this pojnt, I'm more concerned with him being 100% in January rather than September.

I agree. Chances are Newman will return less than 100% as a football player he has known that there are times you will play with pain since he was in high school. This is not a sport that you play only when you’re feeling 100%. If the trainers feel he can go without major risk of reinjuring the foot and Newman can deal with the discomfort he will be back on the field.

Why the rush?

Gee, could it be because he's our best defensive player?
