Solidifying Depth?

Are we attempting to solidify our depth by weeding out the various weaknesses at the bottom of our roster? Quantity with moderate talent could do that if we have a larger group of prospects in camp.

Since this was considered a more consistent spread of potential in the 3rd and fourth rounds, I am suspecting so.

This is the exact same kind of strategy that eroded the Cowboys in the mid 90s until they completely imploded in 2000. Pick good players, not "depth".

Another thought would be we are collecting a quantity of picks to make trades for proven talent.

I'm not getting it.

So now the value is in the 3rd and 4th rounds? Before the draft started it was in the 2nd-5th rounds. I don't like the trade. They lost over 100 points on the trade chart and there were good value players available at positions of need.

We can't keep 12 rookies.
That's the problem.
It's all fun and dandy until we drop 5 and other teams pick them up....

We're stacking up guys to put in Irvin reality tv shows.

I just don't get it. I thought we were going into it as Best Player Available...
Not today apparently....

Fellas, Jerry Jones is not Jimmy Johnson. I wish we could say this was a Jimmy move, but this is a 1995-2000s Jerry move.

I really felt strongly we would package those picks and move up for higher talent. I guess that's why I am surprised.
