After the poor PS performance I have to hand it to him and his ST's

Jones leads the NFL in net pumt average, and had a fantastic game in Philly.

Bailey is 9 out of 10 on touch backs.

The coverages have been outstanding.

And the blocked punt was the first one returned for TD simce 1992!

Now just get Lucky out there at PR and lets roll!

These ST's will be needed even more now to help dictate games.

Looks like his preseason debacle was planned to see which parts worked best. Bailey being Bailey, but greatest surprise if Jones. When he boomed that 59 yarder, and placed the ball in great position limiting Sproles to fair catches I had to check out if we had a new punter. That said " Well Done" Chris Jones

I think we tend to overreact to special teams play in the preseason when there are so many bodies out there who are not going to make the roster. All it takes is one nobody being out of his lane for a big return to happen yet we act like it means we're doomed on special teams play.

The preseason is about judging individual play, yet we too often draw conclusions about an entire unit when it comes to special teams.

I will say this, I was not a fan of bringing McCray back and keeping him, but that blocked punt justified his roster spot for the season.

Jones showed this preseason that he is back to where he was his first season with us. It seemed like Bissacia let him return to directional punting, which is his strength.

I guess we overreacted the same way the media and Philly fans did!! :)

Just get Jeff Heath outta here!

Why, he is a very good ST's player.
So his toe was on the line for a touch back, it happens to the best of them. He also made a great block to create Wilber's TD.
I was all ready to replace him as a S, but he is a great ST's player and hits hard and plays with an attitude.
We need that.

Kick/Punt returns haven't been good, but other special teams areas have been great. As for Lucky...with the way the return units are blocking, and with his preseason propensity for dropping the ball, I'm fine with Beasely back there just fair catching. Now if only we can get his blockers to stop getting in his way.

I took a lot of smack when I said preseason ST's are not predictive for us as an organization and now we're here.

Remember when the Eagles looked like the greatest show on turf in the preseason?

People still worry about preseason?

They should stop.

I think we over reacted but i think it was justified. After his first season so many thought he was going to be taken from us. Last year was mediocre and so its steady. Lets give it some games vs who hes up against. Than we ll have a better indicator. Its steady so far. Nothing bad or good.

I remember when we let McBriar go to Philly and brought in Jones I was like *** is this?

Now it seems to be the right call. He's got a real boomer for a leg, something McBriar had as well.

I was practically screaming this all preseason long. Some people live for the doom and gloom. :p

Every year, we freak out over special teams in the preseason while guys who will never be here look awful.

And almost every year, it turns out to be just fine.
