Some Boise folks really think Kellen Moore can lead us

the kid seems to see the field and can find the open man - but he just doesn't have the arm to drive the ball. that's one helluva Achilles heel.

Perhaps if he could step up in the pocket he could make a throw. Collins was getting worked tonight.

I really think if the staff had done the right thing and let him play all year I think we would have won at the very least another game or 2

He did real good for first game, against a tough jets defense.
plus he only had a few reps in practice this week.
last int was a hail mary that bryant made poor effort on. he went up with one hand ?? lol

Anyway I liked what I saw of moore sharp quick, and did not get rattled or look scared.
Will actually look forward to next 2 games just to see how moore does.

Really? I was told he threw 3 INTs. That's not an improvement from what we've had. Guess I just had to see it for myself.

Just can't switch the entire offense for one player. Especially if that player is not the future franchise player.
And certainly can't change the offense in less than a week..

can run plays similar to West Coast offense. We have Moore on roster for many months now. OC should know what he can do. Not able to adapt is no excuse.

This kid HAS something. He commanded control of the offense like its been his spot back there this whole time. Hes got a quarterback clock running like a swiss watch in his head. First NFL start..and throws a pick right away... so what does he do? Next time hes behind center...hes back to throwing strikes or trying to get rid of the ball. And hes got NO first team reps...i mean.... this kid has a internal cadence, rythm, timing, mindset, and doesnt seem to get shook. He has some intangibles that are just "in his dna".. and what better time to learn the speed of the game/ reading real defenses/ watching tape than right now. That Oline will help keep him from getting gun shy...and hes able to play without the fear of a single mistake costing the teams whole season. Thats how we got Romo...we could do no worse...so we sat Bledsoe and let the kid learn...without expecting him to be our savior. But after that seahawks game Romo has always tried to FORCE a miracle. Which is why hes hurt AGAIN, after being hurt AGAIN (in the same season no less)

This kid has a Troy Aikman like quarterback brain. He jumped in there and started making line calls like it was second nature, firing that ball out on the same mental clock on every play. Theres QBs who are trying to do all these things at once. Then theres guys that just DO ALL THESE THINGS at once. He looked like the latter. And he doesnt need to convince himself that hes a winner. I still feel like Romo is still trying to convince himself, and everyone else hes as good as we think he is. He tries to force too much, while worrying about screwing it up.... Atleast when this kid throws a pick he does so decidedly. And he doesnt let it affect his game if he does...he has confidence in himself. I think he has big potential myself.

Funny how they said the same thing about Russell Wilson.....

The only reason Russell Wilson was doubted was because he is short. He has an NFL arm however and is extremely good with his legs. That's two things Moore doesn't have going for him.

Having said that, I'm all for letting him start the process of earning the backup job for next year by letting him have these last two games.

no knock on Kellen, having been thrown in the fire like that.....but who called the play that resulted in an int in the endzone?

Some non-Boise folks don't think so. He got his feet wet.

1. The int in the end zone (Coaching should have played that very safe)
2. The final pass to Dez (Hail mary that wasn't a hail mary...4 Jets around the ball).

Not expecting more than backup level, but he will be better than Matt "I'm getting paid" Cassel.

Tiny, rag-armed QB who ran a college offense that didn't require progressive reads and doesn't work against NFL caliber defensive players.

And Wrong..........:lmao:

Good stat here. Moore deserves credit.

Matt Cassel's 3 completions were to TE, RB, TE. Kellen Moore's 5 completions have been to WR, WR, WR, WR, wr...

I attribute the first one to nerves. The last was a hailmary. The second was probably the worst of the bunch.

Exactly....

Hell even the 1st one...ducking out of a sack....trying to make a play....on his 2nd pass as an NFL QB....I can live w/ that. The 2nd pick was the most shocking. He got fooled thinking he was throwing against cover 2. He knows better.:banghead:
