Reading alot this morning about the WIN. I'm not mad, just a little confused. We just beat a playoff team in their house on Sunday night football. Was is perfect? No. Did they find a way to win? yes.

Everyone harping on the media heads for the quality of the win and qb play by Romo. When was the last time any media figure dictated a win? We are not killing teams like the 07 Pats, but does that really matter? Does Romo have faults? Sure, but there is not another qb I would rather have behind center in any situation. The kid does not give up. EVER. And he has the ability to kill a team with one play (see TD pass to Austin, falling down screen to Bennet).

Point is, this game was set to be a potential loss after the crazy Monday night game. But the TEAM stepped up and basically stomped the Pack. Guys...enjoy being 3-0. Enjoy Tony Romo. It's what makes watching this team so enjoyable.

Dallas will struggle against a Cleveland team that is built a lot like them... Wrong.

Romo is suppossed to play poorly against the Eagles on Monday nights... Wrong.

Dallas will have a let down in GB after a short rest and having such a high emoptional game... Wrong.

Dallas can't win in Lambeau... Wrong.

Dallas can't win in the playoffs... Well, I'll let you figure out what the answer will be.

It's early the media dopes have nothing better to write about.
They have not found out that Denver is playing well.
The rest of the NFC East is a beast.

We could go 4-2 in the East.
That is about the best any team here can hope for.

Other than the Eagles, I am not sold on the Commanders or Giants. The Giants haven't done anything so far this year to impress me. They barely pulled one out against a winless Bengals team yesterday. As for the Commanders, we will see how good they are next week.

But I will agree that the NFC East is the toughest division in the NFL.

As for the topic of last night's game. IMHO, we handled this Packers last night. Sure we made mistakes, not as many penalties as last game, and Romo had one pick that shouldn't have been thrown. Felix Jones is the man, Marion Barber is a beast, and Miles Austin showed that he can take some of the pressure off of T.O.

You can't discredit the play of Aaron Rodgers, but our defense came up big yet again when it needed to. (whether it be the red zone defense in the first half or at the end of the game)

Overall, all things considered (coming off a crazy Monday night game with Philly, playing at Lambeau field, against a good Packers team), I think the Boys played pretty well. Now its time to prepare for the Commanders. ;)

Let's see.

Giants 3-0
Skins 2-1
Philly 2-1

The Giants and Skins are good teams. Both made the playoffs last year. Both have played pretty well this year. All you can do is win.

Which is precisely why the Green Bay Packers are still a major threat to win Homefield. Hopefully the Chicago Bears can give them some sort of challenge in the division.

At least we have the tie-breaker on them, if we wind up with the same record.

I largely agree.

But part of the fun is dissecting the play and ferreting out the weaknesses in a particular game.

Certainly, it is rare when any player plays a perfect game. And those weaknesses/muffs are brought up for food for thought: Romo had a pretty good night, yet his ball handling/decision making (when pressured) remain sources of concern. That is not to say he is not a top-notch QB, just niggling things that fans naturally talk about.
Too, for example, while I am McBriar's biggest fan, he shanked one last night. Not an indictment against this superb player but just something to discuss.

In a nutshell, we relish the wins but it's fun to dissect players' performances.
It goes with the territory. And for Zoners to only mention what the Cowboys did right would make this Zone boring.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the Cowboys played a 7. Good enough to win handily but far from perfect.

I personally don't see focusing on the negatives plays as "fun". If fans want their teams to be perfect, they better get used to a lot of disappointment.

Yep, but their division is very soft, while ours is strong.

This was a much needed win, for later, because if we do wind up with the same record we've got the tie breaker and you've got to believe they've got a much better shot to win a lot more of their division games because we're playing in a far tougher division.

Sloppy wins will typically elicit the kind of reactions many of you are reading today...Personally, I'm thrilled about the win but it's an uneasy kind of satisfaction...They didn't look pretty for a lot of the game...Those last 9 minutes were ugly to say the least...How can they not close out a game better than that...Nevermind the litany of mistakes/miscues during the game...In comparison, Packers looked a lot less sloppy in simply getting beat by a better team

I don't know. I think because we are Cowboy fans we tend to nitpick on the Boys mistakes. It was a sloppy game to be sure, but the Packers ad their share of miscues as well.

They're the favorites to win the Superbowl. As such, they're held to a Superbowl winning standard. And when you've established a track record for disappointed for the better part of 12 years, people are looking for reasons why the pattern is going to repeat.

It's not going away, so you better learn how to deal with it.
