Some of you would defend Jerry & Bill even if they cut Roy Williams

Some of you are getting ridiculous as to how far you are defending Jerry & Bill. Even the calmest "seen it all" posters here are starting to wonder if the chicken little point of view has some merit.

* Receiving core is now dangerously low with a guy who ruins the chemistry of every team he is on as our most likely replacement.

* The biggest weakness last year (offensive line) has not been fixed at all. A guy who may never be more than a backup is our biggest addition on the line.

* Larry Allen is about to be replaced by the aforementioned player.

* Veterans are being cut left and right. The rookies are going to watch quality guys like Dan Campbell and La'Roi Glover released while possibly a TO comes in?

* Still no kicker in Big D. A position that single-handedly lost at least 3 games last year.

* The Cowboys, one of the largest money making franchise in the NFL, and a team that is supposed to have an owner who wants to win at all costs, are about to enter the draft with $20 million in empty cap space.

* The Commanders have gotten much better. The Giants are slowly improving.

Come on now, even some of you diehard apologists must be getting a little nervous by now??

I have to say, the only thing I am satisifed with is our new linebacker, but only if we get a stud in the draft to compliment him.

Maybe Bill has quietly decided to just take the two years pay and rebuild the team.....or not.:bang2:

Honestly TBC, I'm just scratching my head.

I think that's about what would probably happen at computers everywhere if they did cut him. Heads would spontaneously combust. :D

yep, you are right TBC

have no idea why we're sitting on our hands

I understood why we kinda took a pass in 2004 (poor free agent market, team wasnt anywhere near ready to really compete, the few decent free agents there were were vastly overpriced etc etc) but have no idea what the reasoning is behind the quiet start now...makes no sense

nice post, agree with you completely. im almost in "shock and awe" at how much people back our management especially after all of these losing seasons. im mean supporting your team and agreeing with your teams personel decisions are two different things.

It doesn't make any sense because the denial about Owens is in full force.

There is no other logical conclusion.

So we are either imbeciles or we are saving our cash for the big splash.

There are many people who are not "Happy" we are sitting in FA with out many moves, however some of those are just not chicken littles or going to freak out about it on a message board.
And then there will be those that will defend any decision.

There is a difference between people being impatient, unhappy and wigging out about it vs people being unhappy and not wigging out over it.

Just something to consider.:)

What good is a message board if I can't vent a little about a scary looking 2006 season? ;)

Since Jerry has yet to return my calls, I guess I'll spill my displeasure over the offseason here. I have to tell ya, while it's not over yet -- because we may yet pick up some great free agents like Marcus Coleman  -- it's frustrating watch Bill sit on his rear just like he did two years ago.

Hey, I realize Parcells has more football knowledge in his pinky than most armchair quarterbacks, but it sure does look like he is back to that cocky Bill Parcells of 2004 who thought he was good enough to coach what he had over the entire league.

Here's hoping for another phenomenal draft, which I hate to say, odds are it won't happen again.

I don't think it's that we're defending them. What we're saying is that we're less than a week into FA. Maybe we should wait until, oh, training camp starts AND WE ACTUALLY KNOW WHO THE PLAYERS ARE before we start panicking? With all due respect, given 2 men as driven & egotistical as JJ & BP, I have a hard time believing they'd really be elsewhere (if indeed they are) unless they were fairly calm with the situation. Since Jerruh owns the team--& is the GM--he's allowed to do what he wants. Don't like it? There are 31 other teams you're welcome to follow instead. Somehow I really doubt he spends his time trolling here, making sure that we're happy with his decisions.

It's entirely possible that when Jerruh gave Bill the extension, the two of them talked about a lot of this & decided they did want to finish rebuilding the team--that Jerruh is willing to allow a couple of years for everything to take root & is cutting the older players now to get moving.

It's also possible that Jerruh does indeed have a deal worked out with TO.

It's also possible that Jerruh is meeting with some agents elsewhere so as not to tip off people as to their moves.

Whatever the scenario, for us & 31 other teams, there's no use in panicking (or gloating) until the season gets underway. There is still lots of time left in FA, more players will be cut over the next few months, there is a draft, players on all teams will get hurt, etc.

Until then, why hyperventilate? Jezuz, chill out...who gives a what the skins do in the offseason? Don't you realize that a lot of the "rumors" being floated here are purely to off the Boys fans--that they know they can set you off by claiming the skins are going to sign ....?

I agree, this is starting to scare me. We havent dont anything about the O'line, we havent adressed the Kicking situation, we released Keyshawn and now our only option is T.O( which is bad because he has the power to demand a lot more now) and we havent adressed anything else.....*** is going on?

Welcome me to the BAndwagon guys I think I'm starting to see the light. even a possible T.O signing doesnt sound that good anymore....Not good not good at all.

I'm not apologizing for Bill and Jerry. I'd still like to give them some time and I like the Ayodele and Kosier signings, but so far I'm dissapointed in their dormant FA and I'm a bit surprised at what they are doing.

Still, if they wind up signing T.O, Chris Hope, McGinest, Vinatieri and have another great draft, I'd have to insert my foot in my mouth.

But in saying that do the others that disagree and say everything is ok not have that same ability to vent on a message board?

Cancel the season...

But while you're at it, let's make sure we cancel the Patriots season too. They haven't done a thing. Cancel the Colts too. Besides, guys like Parcells, Pioli and Belicick, and Bill Polian don't have a clue.

I've had a theory that you can lump just about every message board poster into a few broad categories.

One of the big groups is the "Whatever the team does, its the right move" group.

I have to say, the only thing I am satisifed with is our new linebacker, but only if we get a stud in the draft to compliment him.

Lol, Keyshawn is testing the market, Witten catches like 70 balls a year, Crayton WILL develop into a number two, Chad Jackson is a legitimate option in the draft. Oh Yeah, we got Glenn to. and Owen would an A WHOLE OTHER DIMENSION to this offense, easing up the pass protection and making it MUCH easier for JJ and Witten.

The Biggest weakness?? Well Jacob Rogers is coming back, so is Flozell. Rivera will be fine after a whole offseason to fully recover. Gurode is improving, so is Al Johnson, and if Allen or Rivera get injured again, we need a REAL option(solid and proven) hint: Kosier. Pettitte(?), on the bench where he belongs.

He has to be replaced by SOMEONE ... preferably SOON.

"the rookies" there are no "rookies" on this team. these are grown men who have a job to do(which they are also paid HANDSOMELY for). Bill drafts HIGH QUALITY guys, who develop into NEW leaders.

FA is still going on, we can still nab edinger, Chad Brown, Vinat., or Vand. all of those options aren't superb, but still a MUCH bigger improvement over Cundiff. with any of them we would have been in the playoffs.

enter the draft with 20 million?? you do realize that Newman, Williams, and Witten, and Crayton not too long after that are coming up for their big contracts. I would rather have too much money and make sure we can sign them rather than risking them walking over to the Commanders....

Did you expect them to get worse... don't worry, we are MORE than capable of beating the Giants and Commanders... you must have faith.
