I could take duct tape and wrap it all through your hair and all over your body, especially in your dank, personal areas.

I forgot to mention that my weekend is wiiiide open. Just sayin'.

Don't like cats. Can't stand to be around them and would never have one in my house. With that said, you have to be some kind of "special" to find humor or fun in abusing them.

I'm allergic so i feel the same way but i wouldn't hurt a cat.

I can't help but laugh. I hate cats, and think they're fun to mess with. I particularly like getting them to run into the wall chasing the red dot from a laser pointer. Stupid, stupid, creatures.

That said, while it's humorous to do this as a little joke for a little while, it's stupid to just leave the cat like that out on it's own. Have your little fun, but let the cat go when you're done. Then you can find some other way to torture it later.

It would not be funny even for a little while to duct tape a cat in that fashion. Not even with one tiny strip of tape. If I ever hear of a serial killer in your area I will be sending the police a copy of your response in this thread. I am sure they will make you a person of interest.

Why would anyone hate a cat? Talk about a misplaced, idiotic emotion.

To those who hate cats, I'm sure the cats feel the same way about them.

Too bad this world doesn't have more cats and less cat-haters.

Wow, some of you actually think some duct tape for a very short period of time would be real tortuous to a cat? Really?? It's not the same at all as like on a human's arm or something of that nature. There is so much hair there that it's not going to stick all that great really. It will stick to the rest of the tape you wrap it with, and that is what is going to bother the cat, being constricted and not being able to move.

I'm sorry, but for a minute or 2, that's no big deal, and yes, could be mildly humorous just for how silly it looks.

I agree for longer periods of time that's stupid, and when I say find other ways to torture the animal, I don't mean literal torture. Nobody has heard of tongue in cheek I guess.

And no, of course I don't literally "hate" them either. Lighten up some of yous.

...pictures and story didn't you get?

Your response is very disturbing.

For a minute or two it's no big deal? Are you for real?

So torturing it for a long time in one sitting is bad but torturing it repeatedly for small amounts of time is cool?

There is only one adequate punishment for the person or persons responsible for this kind of nonsense.

Wrap them in duct tape in the exact same fashion as the cat was found and allow them to remove the tape on their own. Nude. No fines. No jail time. Poetic justice. My recommendation?

When the perpretrators have been caught, tell the Philadelphia P.D. to forget about any extra costs. I'll FedEx them more than they will ever need for free.

Uh no. It is the length, and the results of said length that MAKES it torture. A few minutes is not torture. Annoying to the cat, perhaps, but torture? Hardly.

Being locked in a pitch black room for 5 minutes. Is that torture? How about for 5 months? If you can't tell the difference between uncomfortable and torture, then that's not my problem.

Torturing animals is wrong. I prefer torturing people. Specifically Mac users. :D

There've been times on here, I've thought certain posts and posters couldn't make themselves look more foolish.

Nice job blowing that notion out of the water.

...your examples and discuss them.

1st video a Japanese Game Show takes a cat and applies tape to it's body and watches.

The supposed humour the cat walks awkwardly. Very uncat like - the antithesis of what we expect from cat who are consider agile and graceful.

2nd on the cat runs into the wall after pursuing a laser dot. Another ungraceful act by a cat.

In my opinion it's not funny to alter animals bodies in ways that don't occur naturally or doesn't personally benefit them.

Cat jackets or cat booties if you have an animal in a cold weather climate - sure. A piece of tape - not cool.

In the 2nd video nobody did anything to the cat maliciously. They didn't even run the dot to the wall. The cat did that all by itself. Poor example to justify your previous arguments.

The laser dot has been a modern version of the ball of yarn for many cat owners. It's not a license for abuse or torture if you know as an owner that your cat will run itself into the wall repeatedly.

What's really at question here is what is your brand of humour and how does it affect the subject you are targeting.

I guess we could strap a 7 ft. wooden pole through the back of your pants and watch you walk around awkwardly. I don't think you would find it funny and neither would most.

Hopefully you can transfer these feelings to helpless animals.

The criticism you are getting is probably more based on the expectation that most here would expect better from a person in regards to smaller animals.

I think you're completely wrong on the bolded part, and actually think many people on this thread would prefer to see a human go through what they define as "torture" than they would a cat, and that is disturbing.

A little tape is not going to hurt a cat, or a dog, or pretty much any animal unless done to the extreme (the initial video being an example of that). And peeling a piece of tape off of your arm is not the same, as some have tried to imply, as it is removing it from an animal completely covered in fur. That is my point.

I'm sorry if some people think the smallest little things are torture and take things so extremely serious that that can't even figure out when something is mostly in jest or tongue in cheek. I feel sorry for people who can't see a little humor in almost everything, and instead try to focus only on what they perceive to be negative.

Never in this thread have I condoned what happened in the original video, and never have I condoned what I consider to be real animal cruelty.
