...your examples and discuss them.
1st video a Japanese Game Show takes a cat and applies tape to it's body and watches.
The supposed humour the cat walks awkwardly. Very uncat like - the antithesis of what we expect from cat who are consider agile and graceful.
2nd on the cat runs into the wall after pursuing a laser dot. Another ungraceful act by a cat.
In my opinion it's not funny to alter animals bodies in ways that don't occur naturally or doesn't personally benefit them.
Cat jackets or cat booties if you have an animal in a cold weather climate - sure. A piece of tape - not cool.
In the 2nd video nobody did anything to the cat maliciously. They didn't even run the dot to the wall. The cat did that all by itself. Poor example to justify your previous arguments.
The laser dot has been a modern version of the ball of yarn for many cat owners. It's not a license for abuse or torture if you know as an owner that your cat will run itself into the wall repeatedly.
What's really at question here is what is your brand of humour and how does it affect the subject you are targeting.
I guess we could strap a 7 ft. wooden pole through the back of your pants and watch you walk around awkwardly. I don't think you would find it funny and neither would most.
Hopefully you can transfer these feelings to helpless animals.
The criticism you are getting is probably more based on the expectation that most here would expect better from a person in regards to smaller animals.
