Hey...I'm working on my certification as a dog trainer.

... I'm assuming the dog is an adult and isn't teething?

If your dog is left home for extended stretches, OR if he/she isn't getting enough exercise, you might be seeing a dog with a lot of pent up energy and stress. So, exercise, long walks, etc...would help. Also your dog is a SMART breed, so ya gotta challenge his/her brain too. Training exercises are good...clicker training works really well with smart dogs. Also, get some kong toys, etc. which will challenge the brain.

Management is part of the solution. Try to keep things out of reach.

And finally, teach your pooch how to trade up. When you catch your dog with a sock, etc...have a nice bone, etc available and trade up. Offer the treat in exchange for the item. Ya gotta be careful though because Jacks are so smart, it might actually be conditioning the dog to pick up items because he/she knows that a treat exchange will follow.

Einstein didn't wear socks. He felt they were redundant...but other than that, you two don't have much in common. :D

Same hole in the roof = same shadow. Actually, it's going to be even more weird now since there's a big video board hanging above the field to create another odd shadow.
