Some Positive Reporting on Romo

I used "Reporting" in the thread title rather loosely, since the DFW mediots dont really report in a true sense. Ole Calvin seemed to say some positive things about Romo. Here is part of what he said:

I don't believe Tony Romo will have any problems once training camp starts from his back surgery. During the offseason work, Romo was throwing passes with good zip and looked pretty good while jogging around the practice fields. He doesn't look overweight, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if he came in at the 235-pound range this summer.

What's with this recent spate of complaints about Romo bashing, like nothing good is ever said about him? Sure, ESPN is going to do their TMZ thing at times, and I know some fans aren't sold on him. But I think most of us realize we're lucky to have him.

The complaints about the Romo bashing is attributed to about 5 people or so on this forum...maybe more. But, those 5 or so are here crapping on Romo day after day after day...saying the same things over and over. I'm sure you know who they are, so good luck getting them to say "we're lucky to have him".

Those 5 people think we are lucky to have them. It's the narcissistic attitude of them.

Wonder if Watkins lost a bet to write a decent article.
Or someone hacked into his computer and wrote this for him.
:)
Nice decent reading though for once.

Decent is a relative term though. The first section on Orton is way off the mark in that he thinks the best move is for the Cowboys to cut him. That is absolutely the ONLY thing they should not do. Let him continue to not show up. Fine him as he goes, then once training camp finishes, put him on "Reserve-Did not Report " That way he does not count against the 53. We don't pay his salary and eventually he would have to pay back the portion of his bonus. Cutting him would add dead money to our cap. We may not get his 3-6 mil back this year, but it will come back to us eventually if we go this route.

and as an aside, Randle was 5th rounder...not a 4th, but watkins has always been a bit lax with fact checking.

Well said CL!!!! Where is that hammer hitting the nail smiley when you need it???;)

I'd like to see him come in a bit thinner and hopefully a tad bit more mobile. If he gets his INT% in the 1.5 range we will be golden on offense. He's gonna get the rest if he's healthy.

He's "the" guy on this team & it'll be up to Tony & the offense to carry this team because I still think the defense will be awful.

31 TD's and 10 INT's last year was pretty good. I'd take that any year from any QB.

1.5% would be insane given his attemps. Yes, that'd be sweet.
AlexSmith actually did it but he had about a third the number of TDs

Romo was lumped with Brees and Brady in the 1.8-1.9 range.

In other words, his int % was insanely good.

He's been under 2 in the high 1s three out of he last 5 years. He's had a 3.3 and a 2.6 thrown in there with a low of 1.6. That needs to get better.

Brady has had a 1.4, 0.0, 2.3, 0.8, 2.0, 1.3 and 1.8 in the last six years with one season out from injury. So Romo can improve a bit and be more consistent.

Romo needs to throw a few routes better as well and improve his reads (although that's not a real problem). We need to audible into more runs IMO.

See above. His INT% is not what it should be and he's acknowledged that publicly more than once. It's not bad but it can improve IMO.

correction: "we're lucky to half him."

Also, your response is convuluted. You write: The complaints about the Romo bashing is attributed to about 5 peole or so on this forum . . . What you meant but did not write IN CLEAR ENGLITCH is this: Romo bashing is attributed to about 5 people or so on this forum . . . .

See, now you make sense and it thrill me for you to make sense (for once).

Brady had a perfect int ratio of 0.0???

As for the other stuff, yes I agree there's plenty of areas for improvement...and he would totally agree.
One of my least favorite plays by him last year was that check out of the run that led to a pick in the Green Bay. It was the right call normally with that look but a really terrible idea given the situation. It should not have even been an option.
