Some post draft thoughts/opinions

Why would Jerry allow the Eagles to trade up to get Lemon? He purposely helped a division rival to get better. This is typical Jerry. He pulled the same thing that allowed the Eagles to land Devonte Smith. Jerry must be a fan of Roseman.
Well, as an Iggles' fan, I will point out that the Cowboys chose Parsons. Hardly a consolation prize.

I still think the biggest weakness. Would be everybody working together, learning how to work as a team.
And thats exactly the kind of thing that is achieved by Shoddys team building activities.

Sure people make fun of the Greek Dancing and the Taffy Pulls but when you consider that Tyler Smith did a trust fall on Brandon Aubrey, you buy in on the process.

The Eagles allowed us to get Parsons and Osa which has turned into around 6 current players.

I would look into signing a few veterans so these kids don't have to be thrown into the fire. Bobby Wagner for example would be an excellent addition as a bridge player. Player like Von Miller would be excellent to have around to help develop these young edge rushers. Jackson started for the Eagles last season and knows the scheme.
not to be to critical but why not play young players instead of worthless veteran players who most of the free agents that are out there are not worth the money to spend on. this team is not going to the superbowl this year so if the young players can play let them.

Did you have the Patriots and Seahawks going to the Super Bowl?

this team is not going to the super bowl. i did not pick the seahawks to win the super bowl but they had talent on there defense already. all they needed was a good qb and smith was not the guy. this team is building from the ground up right now on defense. i hope that this team shows improvement on defense but are not there yet to compete with the top teams of the nfc right now. who knows if the offense can score like it did last year this season.

This team is certainly competing on paper.

Big vote of confidence for our 2nd yr running backs in Mafah and Blue as they decided against drafting another back. The opposite for Schoon, Carson, Marist-all will be fighting to keep their roster spots.
Not sure why you include Schoonmaker. We didn't draft a tight end. We picked up a UDFA, but we also picked up a UDFA running back.

Two number twos no biggie

I have no reason what so ever to believe Blue and Mafa got a "vote of confidence" LOL.
We all knew this was gonna be a defensive heavy draft and the FO even admitted it. If any help was given to the offense it would be the OL. Worry about RBs later. By no means are they sold completely on this RB room.

If not for the character issues, many thought Trigg would be a 3rd rd prospect, he is very talented

Idea is to bring them along slowly, don’t throw too much at them that will stunt their growth

-Notice outside of Lawrence and our receiver in the 7th rd, Cowboys took players from power conferences-Big10/SEC.
Just fyi for whoever

The mid majors and really any non Power-Four conference are quickly turning into a minor league for them.

The big football schools basically just buy whatever players they want through the portal so we will see more and more consolidation.

This year the big schools began creating pools of $20m each that they use as “pay for play”

If Larry Allen was in the league today. Sonoma State wouldn’t even send him a letter and he’d have gone to Alabama.

This year, out of the 257 total picks in the draft, 231 players, came from a Power-Four school. That’s 89.9%

Are we sure about that? Just my opinion…but I think it remains to be seen if Blue and Mafa have gained a vote of confidence. I certainly hope they have improved a lot. And we will surely see in due time.

But I also think it would not be a surprise to see us add some a RB or two before camp. And maybe more likely, picking up someone when final cuts are made in early September.
IMO Blue was mentally too immature.
I hope he had some time to reflect on his first year and worked hard in the offseason.
He has plenty of talent. He needs to let it out.
.
Having said that, if he doesn't show what he can do in his second year, I think his career will be limited to backup roles, situational role and maybe special team.
RBs don't get many chances to show their stuff. There's always another one waiting for a chance.
I'm rooting for him hard.

IMO, in today' NFL time is a luxury that's rarely given to a player.
If you're not showing anything in your first two to three years... well, you're trade bait or washed.

I honestly thought we might surprise people and draft a running back. The last 2 SBs were either focused on stopping Sequon or the inability to stop KW3. It's the most underrated/undervalued position in football and unfortunately Williams was starting to show wear and tear at/around game 13. 17 games is a long time to take punishment as the lone proven option.

The shocking thing to me was at 10 the Giants didn’t take Downs . That position is held down by JAGS . You team Reese & Downs makes the other 9 that much better . Schoen is a horrible GM but I thought Harbaugh would steady him . You could draft an OT next round . This is why they are lousy for over a decade.
