the other thing about drafting McFadden would mean that we either let MBIII go to another team, or we've totally over-invested in the RB position. It just wouldnt make sense to have both at the price it will command.

Here's a thought, though:

Let's say MBIII is not able to handle the load. You can always trade him or release him.

Let's say McFadden is not who we think he is. You can always release him.

Let's say McFadden does prove to be a three-down back, you can always trade MBIII.

It's not like Dallas doesn't have any options if both turn out to be great backs. In fact, that only increases the team's options. And if one is better than the other, you can always cut one or trade one.

As for the wasted draft pick, as I've stated before, teams waste draft picks all the time when they pick players who don't pan out as expected.

We shouldn't be so worried about "missing" on a pick at the expense of possibly getting a franchise/Pro Bowl player.

You do what you think is best and let the chips fall where they may.

A possible SUPERSTAR at that.

One of those guys who leads in jersey sells.

This is exactly how I feel. I don't think the players that are going to be on the board at 22 and 28 are going to be the GREAT players that some of people think. I barely see any 1st rd talent at WR so what will we really get at 22 or 28? A top CB might slide and be there but would his impact be more than McFadden's? Doubt it. So if we were to trade up for McFadden I wouldn't be that mad. Especially since I thought we should have traded up for AP last year.

Also, Jerry has stated that he believes theowners will opt out of the CBA in 2 years and there will be no salary cap. Keep that in mind. I am sure he will give rookies and any FA signing backloaded contracts that in 2010 and beyond won't even matter. That's why Flo got a 6 year deal I'm sure. Most of us thought it would be a 3 year deal. Jerry and Stephen have learned from the past and will not do anything to get us in Cap hell again.

I've been on these boards for years and it seems like every year at this time we always have so many people crying about not signing anyone and then we usually end up with an amazing offseason.

Randy Moss

Don't get me wrong the guy is possibly the most unstopable player in the NFL but how can any Cowboy fan ever want to root for this guy?

Even if we do sign this guy in my eyes he will never be a Dallas Cowboy.

That is funny. You complain about the crying and then YOU cry about Moss.... like many did before we signed TO. You even used the same transcript.

:lmao:

Your post makes you more the problem than the solution. Good job.:laugh1:

The holes on this team are at 3rd CB, and change of pace back. We should be able to easily fill these holes through the draft - but at some point we need to inheret some attitude and intensity, particularly on the defensive side of the ball - so we don't fold down the stretch for the 3rd season in a row. After re-watching the Giants game yesterday, we just didn't make the plays we'd been making all season. We aren't that far away from being a championship team.

I'm with you on not crying my eyes out if we get D-Mac, he's going to be a special player - but his running mate may be the best fit for the Dallas Cowboys right now.

Moss is just trying to play the other teams against the Pats to get a better deal. NFL teams know this, and know how he drooled over Brady all season.

If Moss was really serious, you'd see Brady kicking up a MAJOR storm and whining to the press about how the Pats better keep him or he'll raise holy hell.

All quiet out of NE means a deals being worked out.

As for DMac, if you can get him w/out giving up two firsts, say for a first and trading a couple players (not named MBIII), then you have to think about it. I don't think it's practical, so I don't spend much time worrying about it.

The team we have now is good. We don't need to do a ton to make it better. Shoring up our OL was the first thing. Tendering/tagging our boys was the second.

Now, we use the draft to find some legitimate CB and WR help and grab a RB to complement MBIII. It's a safer and more productive strategy.

NOPE you are not--count me in....the kid is AWESOME and will be the best RB in the NFL within three short years.

How many fumbles has he had in 3 years?

Isn't it like 32?
