It is pretty simple

Dak has been a starter for 8 years, not a rookie
Dak has shown that he is a great regular season QB but consistently craps the bed under pressure in the playoffs
That equation is not worth 55+ million/y

If Dak at least leads the team to the NFCCG this year, he will get offered the deal he wants, otherwise not

Yes, some other team may offer more and he may leave but that is a chance Cowboys are willing to take rather than continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL playoffs every year
The "laughing stock of the NFL playoffs every year" part started when Dak was three years old.

This organization needs to look at itself instead of hoping a new quarterback will suddenly change things. They're wasting Dak. They wasted Romo's career. For that matter let me go back to the start- they wasted the last five years of Troy AIkman's career for failing to put a sufficiently good enough team around him.

Yeah we know your agenda well. Everything’s Dak’s fault.

You think if Jerry signed Dak at 45-50M per year extension the people in here would be happy? You think it would make a darn difference whether this team gets over the hump or not ? It’s means absolutely nothing.
Regardless of the nonsense on this site, a majority of Cowboys fans support Dak and they would support him much more at $50M than $60M.

GM Jethro is the one holding back this organization from winning another SB.

Ok. So it means absolutely nothing what price they sign him at.
