I said the same thing after doing battle in the ”Lousaka Polite” thread……I’ve been Mother Theresa since then.
I suppose you weren't very polite then, haha.

Change it up to "disagree to agree"“Agree to disagree”… I can’t count how many times I’ve said this…
The mods of course. That is not my point though. But who's to choose whether the post's are in good faith or being trolled?.A Dak thread will disintegrate on page one as soon as an opposing view is made, at that point every post, regardless of how legitimate and genuine, gets the same treatment.
The 21st Century social media has made consensus or acceptance that everything isnt so polarized a thing of the past.....in today's world everyone has to attack the opposing view (and that unfortunately means having to defend every point, as agreeing shows weakness).
Wow, that's a heavy take and appears to be saying you believe that many of the fans who disagree with you (as you wouldnt mention this if they had the same opinion as yourself) are all coming from one hidden account. To me that's saying you want to be the arbiter of what's right/wrong. You can look at mainstream (independent tv) to see what the football world thinks about the topics. You'll find it's quite varied. The mods of course. That is not my point though.
My point is that there is going to be a specific percentage of the population who uses proxies to mask their IP so that they are difficult to track. That allows them to create multiple accounts and ostensibly never be banned. They can ban your IP but you can just create another IP. For example I can choose a proxy in England and poof I am from England instead of Texas.
From there they leverage the dynamic you are talking about to get attention. Mostly it is for one of two reasons. Either they get a sense of power or they can dissociate into the different personalities as a form of escapism.
The method was codified more or less on 4chan a decade ago. Anyone who torrents is familiar with the set up or at the very least seen it alluded to.
Now does everyone do this? Of course not, only a segment but it's like telling your children that there is nothing to fear when you let them run off to the mall or the movies. Large forums are like catnip to that type.
I just said a certain segment of the population which doesn't even exclude myself. And I said that the mods are the ones who arbitrate.Wow, that's a heavy take and appears to be saying you believe that many of the fans who disagree with you (as you wouldnt mention this if they had the same opinion as yourself) are all coming from one hidden account. So if there's a segment of the population that are using these poxies, but are from both/all sides of an argument why make that an issue. The fact you demean or try to demean counter arguments with words like: Strawman, or gaslighting and cherrypicking which you used in the 'Dak Clutch' thread isnt conducive to a discussion and is attacking the poster and not discussing the comments made.I just said a certain segment of the population which doesn't even exclude myself. And I said that the mods are the ones who arbitrate.
Weird strawmen.
Because you appear to be saying that rather than there being a variety of viewpoints, there is one 'truth' and that's being distorted by a couple of people making up troll arguments.
The only time I can think we've 'discussed' anything is on your thread about Dak being clutch, a position I wholeheartedly disagree with. I gave potential flag's that countered your position. So going back to that thread where/who do you thing were these 'proxy accounts'?
I just dont see these mass proxy accounts as being the issue or even as widespread as you're saying. I see the issue as being posters are pretty much entrenched in their views (especially on questions concerning Dak) and wont accept anything to the contrary.
I am saying that there is a segment of the population using multiple accounts. Nothing more and nothing less.
Have fun trying to make it about me. Last word is yours.
You're also accusing posters of arguing in 'bad faith', which is difficult to substantiate on a fan forum....unless you take the position that a certain point is undeniably true. I will agree that a lot of threads are started, by both sides (usually about Dak) to wind up those with opposing views, that's because there are very few of us that are in the middle ground on him, acknowledging what he's good at and what he appears to struggle with.I can only speak for myself but I believe that posters are a wide variety of personality types. I think it naïve to think that all posters are acting in good faith or bad faith.
All valid pointsIt’s the off-season and the summer heat seems to make too many of our fellow Cowboy fans in this great forum post up here with a chip on the shoulder and in constant arguing and attack mode. A forum like this is built on everyone getting to post their opinions and views on all things Cowboys, but within the rules we ALL agreed to follow when we signed up here.
A few simple reminders to make this place more civil and inhabitable:
In my life experiences, I’ve never known anyone who insulted their way to either changing someone’s mind or earning themselves any more respect.
- This Is an opinion FORUM which means a variety of opinions about the Cowboys are welcome and encouraged as long as they are within the rules we have here.
- A difference of opinion is welcome and part of what makes this place great. A disagreement with your opinion doesn’t make someone a bad Cowboys fan. Or deserving of someone’s wrath or insults.
- If after stating your position multiple times and someone still disagrees with you, let it go. Agree to disagree. Constantly arguing your point over and over will most likely not convince the other side.In fact it usually starts unnecessary fights. You’ve made your point. Let it go.
- Mods are human. And they are volunteers doing the best they can to keep this place between the lines. There are thousands of posts made every day and we don’t always catch everything. Sometimes we miss things. Sometimes we have to take action because of rules violations. It’s not personal. Let’s work together.
- If you are angry with someone here, take a break. Go to a different thread. If you feel angry enough to insult someone you need to either go to a different thread or log off for a while.
We are a week from TC and just 7 weeks from the start of the regular season. Here‘s to another exciting Cowboys season on the best fan sports forum out there. WHAT MAKES IT GREAT IS OUR RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER AS COWBOYS FANS.
LETS GO COWBOYS!
