Let me comment on #7 and #11.

#7 - I am a believer in Tony Romo, but to use the words "completely" takes it a bit too far. I believe he's a very good quarterback, who could be great. He is a playmaker, he's intelligent and works hard. He has the physical attributes. However, his game still needs improvement and he will continue to improve.

#11 - I've been to 7 Eagles-Cowboys games, three now in Philadelphia. This is the quietest that I've ever heard that crowd. I'm not sure if it was your first time in the stadium, but if it was, know that what you saw last night was atypical. I'm not sure if they just don't believe in their team or if they are suffering from the World Series hangover, but either way, being in the stadium as a Cowboys fan, it was a nice change.

Sorry for the confusion. I wasnt at the game. The only reason I commented on it, is because this is like the 4th time out of the last 6 years or so, the cowboys broadcast has spent a ton of time talking about how the fans at the linc are quiet and nothing like the vet.

I went to the vet twice, never the linc though.

Credit Ray Sherman to our receivers being physical without the ball in their hands -- our guys are not afraid to put their hands on someone and make them eat the turf, especially Austin, Williams, and Hurd.

Having played DB before (and both ways WR/DB in HS) I can really respect a receiver that blocks hard. It was usually me expecting to jack him up, not the other way around! :lmao:

1. Wade Phillips calm demeanor and defensive intelligence is what has turned this thing around. Wades defense since Denver has looked like we know the play that is coming. It really is a pleasure to watch. We had new players and some moving parts in the secondary early. Now things are stabilized and the head coach/Defensive coordinator should be getting the credit. He deserves it. I am not sure what will happen tomorrow, but as for today and yesterday, he is what appears to be from my viewpoint a calming influence and a good teacher.

But I thought this team needed Mike Singletary?

Good stuff Theebs.

Good read there theebs! And good discussion...

ON the Ogletree thaing: I find it interesting that Garrett is using him initially on WR screens. When I was reading up on him, in college he played in a system with a mediocre QB and a system that emphasized short passes. So Garrett is bringing him in on the types of plays he is familiar with. And it is working. Eventually, as defensive coordinators build their book on him, I expect to see some misdirection based off that.

im just goofing.

Espn did a piece one morning in september when san francisco was 2-1 on their success. The whole piece was built around mike singletary's hill.

he had a hill installed on the practice field. A giants sand hill. the team did tons of running on it in the summer.

I just think its funny.

On a serious note though, I like singletary and I completely understand what the hill represents and what he is doing with it. I think its smart.

but I am still going to get a chuckle out of it.

Great rundown Theebs. I live and breathe the Cowboys, but I could never just think of so many pertinent facts and opinions and put them down on paper. So, I appreciate it greatly that there are others that can do it. Thanks so much.
