@ttwentyman "Johnson said if Cowboys try to single cover him again he'll try to duplicate his 300+ performance from last year."
------------------------------------------

That's some real passive aggressive trash talk from a supposed quiet guy. Detroit thinks they own us.

First, the Cowboys head coach was asked about Suh having his suspension overturned, meaning his offensive line will now face the disruptive defensive tackle.

“No real reaction,’’ Garrett said. “Again, we’re focused on ourselves.

“Obviously he is a good football player, they have a good defensive team and he is a big part of it.’’

So if we don't single-cover him, he won't try?

I don't take that as trash talk, I take that as common sense and he's just saying what everyone already knows.

I am not saying Garrett is any of the coaches I am about to name but doesn't it seem like he has a little of BP/BB/JJ all mixed together.

Well, that is true......the Cowboys will be so stupid to defend him the same way as last time. They deserve to be hit with 3 bills if that happens. Don't think that will be the case though. And I would be very disappointed if Wilcox or Church don't pound him hard when he comes across the middle, even if it is bordeline flagrant. The Suh appeal has taught us a fine is all you would get in this case.

They haven't exactly owned us but have managed to eek out wins pretty consistently in the past. I think that's about to change in 2014, however. This team is better on both sides of the ball while they're about the same. That speaks well for our chances to my thinking.

Time for Dez to fire back with "I believe I can do whatever he can do"

:)

Maybe I'm just overreacting, but bringing up that 300 yard game rubs me the wrong way and I still hope the defense sees it so when we do have him one on one which he eventually will, our corners take it very very personal. This game should be personal for us anyway.

They don't own us but I believe they think they do. Their whole attitude after both games tells me this. From Delmas trash talking Witten going off the field to Stafford clowning Rob Ryan.

Dez is doing it right. Don't speak on other offensive players. I want them focused but I don't think a little bulletin board material would do any harm.

I understand what you're saying. I believe it to be a moot point, though, because I cannot imagine Marinelli even dreaming of single covering him. Sure, there will be a play here or there where that happens, but I think they'll double him for the most part. At any rate, I'd be shocked if he has any kind of game even remotely resembling the last one. Just ain't gonna happen!

Who was starting in the back end in that game last season. Wasn't it Heath? Then a back up CB in on the last drive and gave up that huge pass down the sideline.

Yeah, I see what you mean -- thinking they own us could be a detriment rather than an advantage to them, however. They may be surprised to find out that the advantage they had last year doesn't hold up in 2014. Dallas' defense is considerably more stable than Rob Ryan's was last year. We'll see what Stafford has to say about Marinelli & Co., as opposed to his BS about Ryan's awful defense of last year. As we all know, things have changed considerably since then. I'm hoping he'll discover that fact this time, much to his chagrin. We'll see.

Didn't Carr have the flu last year when he got the 300? So if Carr is healthy I guess we can expect 150.

Yeah, the secondary (and much of the defense) was loaded up with guys off the street and/or rookies.

The biggest difference is our offense, period.

The fact that we can control the clock and run is going to be a big difference this time around. In the two prior games, we threw it all over the place. I think that last years game was a little more difficult to throw. But, it's not like the Lions have lock down corners. The safeties will be more challenged in covering Witten and especially Beasley if they want to run Cov 2 exclusively.
