You people are naive if you think the delay in Ryan's signing isn't a sign of somebody still negotiating with somebody. I'm not saying he won't sign, but in my experience, the longer a delay, the more anxious I become.

If you think that Jerry's ideal scenario involved the front page of his website saying for 72 hours "nothing official yet, but all signs point to Rob Ryan as the new DC," then you're wrong.

He has already agreed to sign here.

That doesn't mean he'll necessarily be here.

Don't get me wrong, i think he will be, and the chances that he won't be are probably about 1 in 100, but im just saying that because he said he'd sign here doesn't mean he absolutely has to.

Think this through folks. What type of defense does Ryan run? Let's not keep the suspense going. He runs a 3-4.

What type of defense have the Boys run since Big Bill? Yep. A 3-4.

What type of defense does Philly run? That would be a 4-3, with possibly some nuances.

Which job seems more attractive? Implementing your style of 3-4 with a defense that's built for the 3-4, or having to retool and teach the 3-4 to a team used to the 4-3?

If Ryan wants to have immediate success, although not guaranteed, one would think his choice would be Dallas.

I think it strange as well. This was supposed to be done last Friday.

Us oldtimers remember back in the 1970's when the Commanders supposedly had George Allen locked up for another contract as HC, then the whole thing fell apart and he left the team.

It's not official until it's official, and it dont take 4 days to finalize a contract.

Jerry is building suspense.... tomorrow morning we will get word he has signed if not tonight...relax

it's mlk day.....Jerry wants this too be the most talked about tomorrow

Don't the Browns have to officially let Ryan out of his contract? Has that happened? I haven't seen anything about it one way or the other.

Can we stop making these threads. Rob Ryan is our DC whether you like it or not, accept it.
