I think the OP was more worried that we wouldn't sign Ryan because of the delay and that he would get away.

I guess if Martin Luther King Jr. day counts as something fishy, you're right. Team website says that about 90% of the team and staff are observing the holiday today, probably not going to ask the DC to come in on the holiday when nobody is there.

Football teams have to work through so many holidays they probably wanted to give the staff some time to spend with there families since this is one of the few stretches of the year when they aren't crazy busy.

You people are naive if you think the delay in Ryan's signing isn't a sign of somebody still negotiating with somebody. I'm not saying he won't sign, but in my experience, the longer a delay, the more anxious I become.

If you think that Jerry's ideal scenario involved the front page of his website saying for 72 hours "nothing official yet, but all signs point to Rob Ryan as the new DC," then you're wrong.

And if this conspiracy of yours becomes much to do about nothing, what can we call you?
