Hello everyone, my name is Nate, and...I'm a Cowboys fan
.
I guess you could trace it back to my childhood. My uncle, who was (well I guess "is" is the correct term because you never really stop being one even if you quit) got me started on it, I guess you could say I learned it from watching with him.
Over the years my family who are mostly Giants fans, have all tried reaching out to me, trying to break through to show me what a horrible path I was going down, setting myself up for a life of experiencing heartbreak and failure.
It was too late for me though, I was hooked and there was no turning back. I keep telling myself that I can quit anytime I want to and that it's a choice, but deep down I know better. There was a small glimmer of hope back in the late 80's and early 90's when I was still young, where my family was starting to break through after a decade or so of rampant abuse, but then I went on a five year bender and, well...here I am today.
Maybe someday I will come to my senses and find a way to dig myself out of this hole that I've gotten into...probably not though.
Thanks for listening everyone. This was a real breakthrough for me.
