Something I noticed with Dak

When he was under pressure he was erratic. Had the OL continued to get beat by Suggs and co I think that would have continued.

The pass protection improved allowing Prescott to improve.

Any of you guys actually going to argue a point or you just going to gush fanboi?

Every single QB in the history of the sport has his accuracy altered by pressure. Especially when directly hit. Of course the protection helped him play better. As it would every single QB in the history of the sport. Does their improved protection disqualify all subsequent accurate throws, smart decisions and points on the board?

Giving zero credit to a QB who just went 27/36 for 301 yds with 3 TDs and 0 turnovers against the number 1 defense in the league means you are ignoring the facts. Do any of Brady's wins come with an asterisk? *played ok, but credit really goes to his OL.

Completely ridiculous.

Man, sometimes I wonder if some of the fans here are posting from finger painting class.

Dak looked REALLY bad to start the game but looked much better as the game progressed. Just calling them like I see them like always.

He has started out, as the team has, the past 3 or 4 games. I think part, or most od that has to do with defenses they face. They are mixing up the looks and schemes as to what Dallas sees on film. So they try to confuse Dak. But the team as well as Dak, and Linehan are making adjustments to over come those looks.

meh. Baltimre got pressure in his face in the first half and once again his mechanics went into the toilet demonstrated by his inaccuracy.

The difference was not Prescott. It was the OL who gave him all day to throw in the second half.

Dak's mechanics are poor when he is under pressure. Do you disagree that he was erratic?

Did or did not the pass protection improve markedly in the second half?
Team game. It all worked out! 300+ yards and 3 TD's. Not too worried. Enjoy the win Fuzzy!

I put this in the post game thread as well, but did you guys see Elliot jump on Dak's back during an interview? That is the one difference I see between Romo and Dak is that the team seems to really respond to Dak with a lot of energy. I know winning helps but there just seems to be a great rapport with Dak and the guys around him.

Well yes Dak definitely has an energy around him and the guys love him but it's unfair to say that that wasn't the case with Romo. His teammates have always ran through a brick wall for him.

I'm not saying that Prescott is bad. I made no value judgment nor comparison. Nonetheless, the OL was the reason for the second half improvement. I imagine he would be the first to give them credit too.
I certainly agree...and I'm just hoping that the Cowboys haven't prematurely jumped on the hope train. The kid keeps winning though, and at some point you just have to accept that things have changed and the team is moving on. I'm not sure if they have the defense to contest a Super Bowl...Roethlisberger and Wilson both failed in their rookie seasons with number one defenses...so that's a worry, but Romo might not be a better answer to the question than the man who currently holds the reigns. Prescott does allow the Cowboys to become MUCH better pretty fast if Romo takes a pay cut or is traded somewhere. As distasteful as that observation is for some fans (and certainly Romo), it is the situation that is slowly showing itself in Dallas.

Again,

'really bad' is a few incompletions, no turnovers and no mistakes leading directly to points for the other team.

that's just 'meh'. 'Really bad' is weeden, cassell, hutchinson, carter et al.

Cowboys fans have been spoiled by the very guy they seek to undermine

I never said he got no credit. We are talking about "the difference."

I know you guys are all fanboi and cannot handle anything other than your golden child being exalted but it is what it is. The difference in the second half was the OL more than any other factor.

I'm not calling for Romo either.

Something else I noticed: his mama raised him right.

I thought the exact same thing. If he had left it, it would have been one of probably 50 used cups around the trash can. But nope. Idk why, but it really impressed me

Can't see anything to criticize Dak about today. Sure, he gets a little rattled by pressure and I wish he would use that athleticism and elusiveness to avoid pass rushers, but he was simply phenomenal today. I have no complaints about him. I didn't notice anything wrong with his footwork and aside from that short deep pass to T-Will, his arm seemed strong and accurate today. The pass protection was fantastic in the 2nd half and that resulted in Dak having time and he made fantastic throws.

Great, great performance by Dak.

Dude, the OL played great after the first quarter. But Dak still has to make the smart throw, the tough throw, and avoid negative plays. The OL gives the QB a chance, but the QB still has to make those plays.

Really bad is really bad. You can spin that any way you want but we all saw it. He looked bad to start the game and then looked good. I have no agenda rather I call them like I see them. Had he looked good to start this game it would have been untouchable. You can lie to yourself if you like but that is on you.

question is what did the OL do in the 2nd half that it did not in the 1st?
besides just play better...
