Something in the works with Boldin??

Yes ...... against my better judgment.

It would depend on what he was looking for salary wise. The only reason Arizona was forced to give Fitz the monster contract they did was because of his incentive-laden rookie contract. The trouble was, he reached all those incentives and was looking at a cap-killing salary at the end of his previous contract.

If Boldin wants something very similar, I don't think he's going to get a lot of takers. It would hurt us in other areas, big time.

Talent wise? Yeah, I think I'd do it, I think. But that's a friggin' lot to give up. You can find a bunch of talent in the third and fourth rounds.

No.

I'd use those three picks and move up as I as I could to draft a WR.

Now that's exactly what I wouldn't do. Never move up for a WR in the draft, never.

I wouldn't either.

But I'd do that over giving up those picks to the Cards.

really? as big of a crapshoot WRs have been in the draft lately, you'd do that over getting a proven, young player.

I disagree -- Boldin is a sure-fire talent. Have you seen all the first-round receiver busts recently?

My choices would be...

a) Trade draft choices for Boldin, if he is reasonable in his salary demands. say, 8 million per season, with a 10 million signing bonus.

b) If Boldin wants a contract similar to Fitz's, tell him thanks, but no thanks. And use current draft choices (without packaging them) to find a couple of WRs in third round or later, and hopefully hit on one or both.

My very last choice would be...

c) Package all these draft choices and move up in the first round, to get the most hyped receiver possible. It just isn't worth it.

if this happends i will be happy in my pants:D , but I have to see that it will not coe true:(

But but but........we have Hurd and Austin...Amendola and Jefferson....we are just fine!!!! We also have a 35 yr old stud, but he's still 35!

Make the trade please! If we win the superbowl all the draft picks given up will be forgotten anyway. Also, Jerry does so much wheeling and dealing on draft day will get a lot of picks back.

We will be set for years on offense. Make the trade Jerry.

Preseason game 1 (the one Burnett was actually able to play in) against San Diego - Jacob Hester I believe.

Forgot about that one.... I was thinking about Slaton doin a little truckin in the last game.

lol@burnett trucking. man i hope this happens....but thats all it is, a hope. im pretty confident we have the ability to make a couple super bowl appearances before owens is burned out, but boldin is young and damn spectacular....if we could pull the trigger on it...damn it would alleviate so many problems. at least we seem pretty much set on defense except linebacker(maybe roy williams finally moves?)

I would so love this if it happened. I'm talking giddy.

If he comes over then Roy doesn't though... me? I'd prefer Roy.

Mr. Slaton will be finding his way onto my FF roster in the fifth or sixth round, believe it.

Lol... you should be able to wait a couple more rounds before selecting Slaton. You want better value in the 5th or 6th.

Yeah seriously. The 5th round in fantasy football is nothing like the 5th round in the NFL Draft. ;)

I know, I just fear someone landing him before the 7th or 8th -- it's a fine line! But I think Slaton is going to be a heck of a player sooner rather than later. But thanks for talking some sense into me -- if I can wait until the 7th-8th round, it will be the steal of the year!

He did show some flash against us. I guess it just depends on your league format, rules and set up. In my first fantasy draft he actually went undrafted (14rounds) but due to the developments in Houston perhaps he's going earlier now. In the 5th or 6th I'm thinking about guys like DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Thomas Jones etc..

In my first fantasy draft of the season, Slaton wasn't even drafted.

Wow, good to know. I will have to rearrange my priorities! In my other FF draft, I have the fifth spot -- it's got MBIII written all over it. 1400 yards, 14 tds. Oh yeah.
