Something is fishy about Garrett

This guy was callled a genius by many in the league just a few years ago. How do you go from that to what several NFL teams are saying is a very predictable offense?

I watched a lot of games this week and the better teams are NOT predictable and will throw in a trick play or two.

Here is an example: P. Manning will mix his shotgun snaps up, varying the snaps all day long. If you watch Romo, and heck if I can see this the other team surely can, takes the snap after the initial hesitation to point out where everyone is, and has the ball snapped the exact number of seconds every frikin time. It is almost automatic.

I watched McNabb last night and he adjusts the snap count a lot and he also rolls out a lot - why won't they let Tony roll out anymore???

We have a lot of talented people but we do not utilize them correctly. Garrett seems to try something and then do the same like MB III up the middle 3 times???? That was really messed up. The one Charger they spoke with after the game said the entire team knew what play we were running????

Garrett has either lost his ability to call plays or something funny is up, I mean the guy is very smart, is he tanking games....I know, I don't believe this, but I cannot for the life of me come up with an explanation for going from genius to pathetically predictable.

I think it's a bad idea to ever compare any offense with an offense that Payton Manning QBs. He's just so smart, understands and sees the game so much better then most QBs that it's hard to compare the complexities of the things the Colts can do to other offenses. The Niners enjoyed this same kind of advantage when they had Montana and Young. They just understood it better and quicker then the next guy could. JMO

Because he was never a "genius". He hadn't even had enough experience in the league to prove he was a great coach. Before we signed him, he was a QB coach for Joey Harringon for two years in Miami. That's all he'd done.

The whole genius thing came from being a longtime backup in the league and having a degree from Princeton. That's it.

There is a lot of truth in this post.

Where does our offense currently rank? I am not absolving Garrett of any responsibility, but the inability for this team to close out games and seasons falls directly on the head coach IMO.

Is that something fishy a striking resemblance to Jerry Jones Jr?:laugh2:

Yup and this move goes somewhat unnoticed by the media and fans. There's a reason why our offensive line was great in 2007. You can even say that Parcells kept the offense from truly "letting loose" because of his conservative ways.

As soon as The Tuna leaves town, Sparano basically has the reigns to the offense and we put up prolific numbers in 07'. Then, Sparano gets the HC job in Miami, gets them a division title and an 11-5 record; while Garrett takes over in 08', gives us lots of questionable gameplans and calls and we go 9-7.

It's beginning to look like Jerry let the wrong coach go...

I'm really starting to think he's doing it on purpose.
Here is Garrett in a nut shell:

1) Pass Pass Pass Fail
or
2) Run Run Run Fail

Instead of:
1) Run Run Play Action
or
2) Pass Pass Draw

That's a simplified version without getting to lengthy but with him it's either one or the other and very rarely does he ever mix it up.

Somebody complains that he doesn't run enough and what does he do? He runs and runs and runs it till it fails, then he abandons the run and goes back to his pass happy trends and fails anyways. It's like he's setting this team up to fail on purpose, or he's just a total nitwit...:bang2:

He's trying to get Wade fired. He also happens to be the illegitimate son of Jerry Jones.

I'm not smart enough to evaluate an offensive coordinator. I'm not going to sit here and pretend to have the knowledge that says Garrett is good, or Garrett is bad. I don't have it.

What I do know is... when I played football.... when we went out there and executed the game plan, the coach looked smart. When we went out there and laid an egg, the coach looked like an idiot.

I played OL. What I learned from it, was, when we gave our QB time, he did well. And when we got abused (and there were games that it happened), the offense was out of sorts all game long... and the coaches looked stupid (according to our parents/fans/fellow students/friends).

Yeah, the coaches would try to put us in position to succeed, but ultimately, it hinged upon how we went out and executed it.

No idea if Garrett is a good offensive coordinator or not.
No idea if he will make a good head coach or not.

But I do know, if the players execute poorly, nothing will happen. Regardless of who is calling the plays.

And this is all true, especially at the high school and college level, but in the Pro's every little edge you can get counts for much. Coaching, game plans, adjustments, and play calling either gives you an edge or it leaves you at a disadvantage. When you are playing in the Pro's inches determine victors and losers every week...
