Something isn't right

You with the Tebow comments that is just stupid. You love throwing that out there yet Dak numbers are a hell of lot better than anything Tebow did.

Holy Cow 90,000 Messages ....dang my man you have my compliments! We are not worthy my Cowboy brother!!!!

I don't particularly care what length of time the OP considered for debate. I prefer to speak in absolutes.

You responded to my post with a time period comment. I did not add that element to the discussion.

In his "first two years starting" who suffered more unfair criticism from our helter skelter fans? Tony or Dak?

Tony: mid season 2006 to mid season 2008
Dak: 2016, 2017

Romo. Do you not recall how much he was roasted for the Cabo trip? Or the playoff loss to the Giants? And it was not just the fanbase.

And thankfully overall Dak has not received nearly the amount of crap Romo did and hope he never does.

DS, I don't know how long you have been a fan but this is not exclusive to this forum. This has been around since the team was born.

I have been seeing this since the Meredith years and Schramm gave Landry a 10 year contract just to shut them up. I shouldn't complain about the local sportswriters because they're just reflecting from the fans. Randy Galloway based his entire show around the fact that Cowboys fans are so reactive and quick to judge.

The Dallas Cowboys, more than any team in any sport, have more of an entitled fan base. Part of the strong polarization of this team is that fanbase. Some of the biggest aholes and least informed fans I have ever met were Cowboys fans. Even the ones you do not like here pale by comparison to some I know very well. Other fans that have encountered some of these people, that is the reason they hate this team.

Well said.

I've been watching games since 05, closely following since 2011. I'm not from Texas and so I don't often encounter many cowboys fans. As far as collections of cowboys fans go, the internet is most of my experience with them.

It's a damn shame really, what I said and what you said, all of it

It comes off as hatred given the post you constantly make. Saying you doubt him is one thing but many of your over the top and constant thread show something completely different. He is a young QB look around the damn league many 2nd year QB have trouble nothing fricken new about that. Hell Dak put up numbers better than Cam who is a seasoned vet, yet I don't see Carolina fans complaining. I hate missing the playoffs as well, and Romo was known to throw some stupid INTS that cost this team. You can hate on who you please that is on you. Dak may or may not be the solution but any reasonable person would give the guys the chance given what he has accomplished thus far

Or even acknowledge he's done some, nay, many things well.

Dak does seem to get a lot of grief but its because he doesn't have the arm talent of the elite guys.
-He wasn't drafted high.
-Romo always left us wanting more, and we figured 2016 was the year which is why the boys drafted Zeke to give Romo the final piece to win.
-That last drive vs the Eagles, then retiring
-Dak is limited, didn't really throw the ball downfield, took him several games his rookie year to throw a TD.
-All his success was because of Zeke....

Honestly I think the league has gotten so much smarter over the past few years. There is more than one formula to win.
Its not just having a Brady, Brees or Rogers.
LA is winning with Goff, Eagles won with a backup QB in Foles
Jacksonsville with an amazing defense, along with Bortles.

I think Dak is good enough to win. I prefer him to drafting a top 10 guy who just plain underperforms.
Just think about the best 10 top qb's drafter over the past 10 years or so
-Winston
-Marioata
-Bridgewater
-Tannehill
-Bradford
-Flacco
-RG3

Of course we have Matt Ryan, Newton, Stafford, Luck
I totally agree with this assessment. Dak is good enough to win the big game, especially with an elite running game. The problem I see is that in two years we may have to shell out huge dollars to keep him and then it is like having the guys you list without having elite talent for it. If Dak stays about where he is I'll probably be okay if he gets B/B+ money.

It's notable that Russel Wilson won his super bowl when he was on his rookie salary and that money could be spent on other players. We are going to get two years of that with Dak, so hopefully we can do something in the window we have.

I guarantee that if dak wins a SB these are the excuses that will be lined up:

-because running game
-because oline
-because top 5 defense
-because coaching(desperation move)
Same excuses people would have made for Romo too

So Dak can't throw a 5-7 yard route? And his throws are 15 feet short on a 5-7 yard route after taking 3 steps and airing it out? So Dak can only throw 1 to 6 feet from the line of scrimmage? Yes, he's got some really questionable arm strength then. My 5 year old son can throw farther than that.
Maybe Dallas should look into signing your son.

No way in hell. The way Romo is bowed down to by fans you would have thought he surpassed aikman and staubach combined in SB's.

Had he actually won one there is no way anything else gets the credit.

Heck, I would love to bump all the Romo post-Seattle 2006 season/playoffs related content threads alone from 2007 to 2009 to help obliterate counter revisionist history. :)

On second thought, no I do not. :(

On further thought (given the sheer number of threads associated with that nonsense), oh hell no!

C'mon guys... Let's speak on the same wavelength. I said "unfair" criticism. Idont recall Dak showing any signs of lack of commitment during his first two years. Perhaps someone can point that out for me.

Morons huh? What the heck are you talking about?
Let me tell you something there a lot of us aren't sold on Dak so we are morons now....man fans like yourself are the reason Jerry is getting away with 24 years of no glory....its true what they say....there's one born everyday!!!!
Guilty conscious? I was more speaking of the way people act in general. Not really about you. That’s why I didn’t mention your name.

So fans like me, ones that think our qb has a chance to be very good, are enabling Jerry? Yes that makes total sense. A multimillionaire with more money than he knows what to do with needs empowerment from my approval. Got it.

I’ll send him a nasty twitter dm so he’ll lower beer prices at the stadium and I’ll mention you’re upset about the qb choice.

I might be over-killing on the Dak issue but its because i consider it PROBLEM # 1 (after JJ lol) for our Cowboys.....as long as he's under center we're wasting time and going nowhere fast......
Weren’t we once 13-3 with him?

That’s not bad and far from nowhere. He’s not why we lost to Green Bay imo.
You make the case that he was, please.

Look at it this way,...

If Romo hadda stayed healthy, he might’ve enjoyed the fruits of having Zeke at RB behind our O-line and maybe woulda won multiple SBs, while Dak likely never woulda seen the field playing behind a healthy Romo and might’ve been traded or cut before we ever saw him play.

Therefore, if Dak Prescott isn’t good enough at QB, the blame should fall directly on Tony Romo for being injury-prone.

At least that’s the way I see it.

:huh::thumbup:

If Tony still thought he could play, he'd still be playing somewhere. If Tony hadn't got injured 2 straight seasons here he'd be the QB here. Father time finally caught up with him.

I have been a fan for a really really REALLY long time. I have seen some of the best and worse come and go.

I have also been on many forums going as far back as the old ESPN forums of the late 90's early 2000's.

I have never, and I mean never witnessed the trashing of any terrible players I can remember years back the way Dak has received as of late.

And we are talking about not only a guy who had a great 1st season but a guy that TECHNICALLY still had a second winning season(9 wins) despite zekes suspension, bad coaching and getting killed because of oline injuries.

I believe most made Romo the exception and fans turned the other cheek on romos flaws for so many years, and the man is damn near a home town hero without having contributed to a single piece of hardware.

We now dak can throw the ball, we seen amazing accuracy and down field passing in 16. We know he can win without a star wideout, he did it without an injured Dez. And we know he can hold his own without an oline and decent RB, he scrapped together 9 wins last year, cassell and weeden would have never even made it close to 9 in the same situation.

The guy took an *** whipping last year and the coaches refused to help him or make adjustments and a lot of you leaned on the "exposed" instead of seeing the real problem or the WHOLE picture.

This fan base is turning weird. It seems more like a lot of fans are looking forward to failure just to have an I told you moment then actually being excited about football.

I believe Dak will have his fair share of 3-4 td passing with a couple rushing td games, and will still have those fans waiting up till the 2min warning of the 4th QTR, for dak to throw that INT just to get their fix.

So I want to know right now. What makes Dak(who has 2 winning seasons under his belt, no matter how you want to spin that 2nd season) any different from the other slew of crappy *** players who have received nothing but slaps in the wrist from fans over the years?

I can go back to the end of the aikman era for a proper begining and don't remember one player that got this kind of treatment.

I for one won't accept the Dak got exposed excuse any longer. And the he isn't Romo excuse is damn near laughable because we all know how that goes.

I don't understand all the Dak hate. I feel lucky we have him as our Quarterback and I look forward to seeing him develop and become an even better player

:muttley::muttley::muttley:

This is just a Dak boy vs anti Dak thread.
Nothing is gonna be resolved until the season ends. But once it does, I can see a lot of peeps hiding from one side and gloating from the other.

He's in the middle for me so I'll still be around. Laterzzzz
You are correct Sir. There will be some heavy gloating some very serious gloating. irritatingly so

Best Dak Prescott statistic from 2017:

Completion percentage to Dez Bryant: 51 percent.
Completion percentage to every player not named Dez Bryant: 69 percent.

I'm far from a football expert, but I think the problem with Dak wasn't Dak last year. (Now I'm ducking and getting out of here!;))
