I hope not cause I wrote about this multiple times following his rookie year. Few liked it but the path down this road appears to be happening. I want him to be successful because if he isn't the team will not take the next step. I just haven't seen anything from this kid other than living off the success of his run game at this point. I hope I am wrong.

those two are not synonymous. There are many lower tier QBs that have the gift of teaching.
There are some great QBs that cant explain their game charts to a QB

I 100% totally agree with you. I want him to succeed and I'm really hoping he can take the next step. Romo's advantage was that he was also mobile but, he had a lightening quick pass release and delivery. Dak is really slow with his reading and pass delivery speed. Teams have another half second to get in his face. Our coaching staff doesn't seem to know how to coach him up. If he turns out to be another RG3, we are doomed for another decade.

Sorry I don't agree you throw out what does not fit your agenda and keep what. As for teams figuring out? they figured out Cowboys front OL is great unless you take out Smith and there is no one there to take the spot. You find out through McClay that Dez can't beat a 1 on1 as he had in the past and you find out that Dak big mistake was locking in on Dez forcing passes to him that he shouldn't have. As for Dak future he has things he needs to correct and improve on and we will all see if he can. Personal opinion will count for nothing, only the play of Dak.

Yeah that is a number, 1-1 with a league leading defense. So Tebow was 50% in post season, so by that reasoning he and Romo are the same and Tebow is even better than Matt Ryan who is less than 50% win in post season. lol

I'm sorry but romo never had a lightning quick release. Romo always had a wind-up and was always criticized for his weird throwing motion.

People continue to build romo into the QB he never was even after retirement.

I believe most made Romo the exception and fans turned the other cheek on romos flaws for so many years, and the man is damn near a home town hero without having contributed to a single piece of hardware.

We now dak can throw the ball, we seen amazing accuracy and down field passing in 16. We know he can win without a star wideout, he did it without an injured Dez. And we know he can hold his own without an oline and decent RB, he scrapped together 9 wins last year, cassell and weeden would have never even made it close to 9 in the same situation.

The guy took an *** whipping last year and the coaches refused to help him or make adjustments and a lot of you leaned on the "exposed" instead of seeing the real problem or the WHOLE picture.

This fan base is turning weird. It seems more like a lot of fans are looking forward to failure just to have an I told you moment then actually being excited about football.

I believe Dak will have his fair share of 3-4 td passing with a couple rushing td games, and will still have those fans waiting up till the 2min warning of the 4th QTR, for dak to throw that INT just to get their fix.

So I want to know right now. What makes Dak(who has 2 winning seasons under his belt, no matter how you want to spin that 2nd season) any different from the other slew of crappy *** players who have received nothing but slaps in the wrist from fans over the years?

I can go back to the end of the aikman era for a proper begining and don't remember one player that got this kind of treatment.

I for one won't accept the Dak got exposed excuse any longer. And the he isn't Romo excuse is damn near laughable because we all know how that goes.

I know you were on the True Blue Forum. You're telling me that Romo didn't get bashed twice as hard as Dak, even though he actually carried this team for most of his career? We must have seen two different things. Hell, people still bring up the whole fumbled snap in Seattle to bash him and the man is retired.

Romo had a quick enough release that they compared it against the best. Colinsworth used to talk about it all the time, and they even had video packages comparing it to the greats.
 
Find it kind of strange debating which QB caught more hell? lol Romo had his fair share only good thing was he followed QB who were on the downhill side of their career in Bledsoe and Vinny, Romo was around during the era of Henson is better than Hutchinson and no he isn't debates that were taking place. Romo did not have to replace anyone fans were thrilled with. However things like questioning his leader ship, the fact he was an UDFA when many of his critics expected 1st rd pick to be our QB and of course losing in post season and the untimely ints. Romo got his fair share of abuse. As for Dak, he has not been around long, he has 1 season of 13-3 and the next 9-7, his biggest sin outside of lack of experience is the fact he is following Romo. As a fan of both Romo and Dak I think both have faced unfair and over the top criticism. As a long time fan I also know this will not end until a SB is achieved

That's the best you can do is give me somebody's opinionated article? Just because he has a sports gig doesnt mean he knows what he is talking about.

The man is hyping freakin Jimmy garoppolo for crying out loud. I could easily pull up an article stating the opposite of what is claimed in your article posted.

I go by the eye test of what I've seen from romo since he took over for drew.

Like I said, romo was never what you and others overexagerate to at times. No article can compare to the eye test.

I beg to differ. In fact I remember fans complaining about his release for years and the talking heads, but Dallas still got their wins here and there so they where fine with it.

Romo had a very fast released that was shown time and again, as for the eye test? They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but just because you think someone is beautiful does not mean others think that as well. In other words eye test can be driven by ones own perceptions and bias

When they would put the stop watch to Romo release it timed out as quick or quicker than the top QB in the league. That is not opinion, the stop watch does not lie, it has no bias.

Any QB can zip it when not under pressure. So just because they picked the right moments to time his release make him legitimately that!?

I think not. Romo was criticized for years on release and as Parcells said, you are what you are.
