Something isn't right

I have been a fan for a really really REALLY long time. I have seen some of the best and worse come and go.

I have also been on many forums going as far back as the old ESPN forums of the late 90's early 2000's.

I have never, and I mean never witnessed the trashing of any terrible players I can remember years back the way Dak has received as of late.

And we are talking about not only a guy who had a great 1st season but a guy that TECHNICALLY still had a second winning season(9 wins) despite zekes suspension, bad coaching and getting killed because of oline injuries.

I believe most made Romo the exception and fans turned the other cheek on romos flaws for so many years, and the man is damn near a home town hero without having contributed to a single piece of hardware.

We now dak can throw the ball, we seen amazing accuracy and down field passing in 16. We know he can win without a star wideout, he did it without an injured Dez. And we know he can hold his own without an oline and decent RB, he scrapped together 9 wins last year, cassell and weeden would have never even made it close to 9 in the same situation.

The guy took an *** whipping last year and the coaches refused to help him or make adjustments and a lot of you leaned on the "exposed" instead of seeing the real problem or the WHOLE picture.

This fan base is turning weird. It seems more like a lot of fans are looking forward to failure just to have an I told you moment then actually being excited about football.

I believe Dak will have his fair share of 3-4 td passing with a couple rushing td games, and will still have those fans waiting up till the 2min warning of the 4th QTR, for dak to throw that INT just to get their fix.

So I want to know right now. What makes Dak(who has 2 winning seasons under his belt, no matter how you want to spin that 2nd season) any different from the other slew of crappy *** players who have received nothing but slaps in the wrist from fans over the years?

I can go back to the end of the aikman era for a proper begining and don't remember one player that got this kind of treatment.

I for one won't accept the Dak got exposed excuse any longer. And the he isn't Romo excuse is damn near laughable because we all know how that goes.
There was a lot of bashing in the forums, I get confused when folks say crap about Dak, I often wonder if they are actual football fans or just people to like to talk.
I say that because I totally agree with you, any football fan can look at his stats (for 2 years) and see he is a good QB with potential to be a great one.
It only gets better!!

You clearly weren't around for Quincy Carter.

Someone at least posted a source talking about Romo's quick release. You got one for this, "wind up," assertion?

You guys act like you have just became fans!

You mean lisp Quinthy Carther? On drugs crackhead carter, one good season carter? Joey galloway, Antonio Bryant era carter.

Yeah don't remind me

No. I, like many others, have always considered Romo to have a quick release. That helped him make all those plays after scrambling (which may have been due to holding the ball too long). You are literally the first person I've ever seen say he had a wind up.

I highly doubt that.

Tell me anything:rolleyes:

I'm not rooting for either, but one is in a position where we have no choice but to accept (tolerate) him. The other one - I hope that Jerry will some day open his eyes and see (and admit) that the Garrett project has been a total failure and finally put an end to it.
I understand but once they kick the ball off your rooting for him to succeed. Right?

I thought Trent was a good bus driver
Yea I don't get that. The Ravens would not have won that SB if it wasn't for Dilfer. The QBs they had before him were just awful. My Dad's a Raven fan and I watched most of their games that year. They needed somebody to stabilize that offense and don't turn the ball over. Trent did that. Then Billick decided he wanted to go with an explosive QB that next year ,the great Elvis Grbac who was so good he was forced into retirement. lol

Fans turned the other cheek on Romo? Geez I remember people wanting Romo benched and to start the backup QB and crazy things like that. The criticism Dak is getting might be on par with what Romo has gotten, but its certainly not been for as long. And by the same note, I feel that some of the Dak apologist here are a bit ridiculous, even going so far as to post threads saying that Dak is the most accurate QB there is. And I'm someone who likes Dak and wants Dak to be great, but I have concerns. I see know what Parcels meant with the anointing oil comment. Why can't we just wait to see how Dak develops over training camp, preseason, and then the regular season, to see if he fine tunes his game, before professing that he is as great as he appeared to be in 2016? 2016 was amazing, but 2017 brought some eye opening concerns. what is with this impatience, jumping the gun, when it comes to seeing if Dak can be the franchise quarterback?

When I read the OP’s sentence that “Dak has amazing accuracy”, that the rest of the post would be unreadable.

yeah that is the kind of stuff that makes me cringe when reading Dak Apologist. That is breaking from reality. Dak needs to improve his accuracy, because at one point last year he was simply terrible. And I'm a guy who got excited in 2016 watching the preseason, and at one point said this guy is going to be great. It's something I've only done before with Mcnabb when first seeing him and Big Ben. I sure would hate to be wrong about dak. Anyway its statements like this, "Dak has amazing accuracy", that makes some Dak fans come out and look like Dak haters, at the sheer homerism going on.

This sensitivity towards the bashing is laughable. I’ve been a Cowboy fan since early 60’s.

We bashed Merideth into early retirement and he led us to our 1st two NFL Championships and 1st QB in ROH.

Landry was bashed because he couldn’t win the big one and Cowboys were called Next Year Champions.

Morton was bashed after leading us to 1st SB because he threw game losing interception and we we’re looking for a spark.

Danny was bashed for losing 3 straight Championship games.

And we bashed Landry again after losing out in his final 3 seasons.

And they want to whine about Daks bashing.. lol

This is not directed at you but what you were responding to.

Dak is a QB on the wrong team if he can’t handle the criticism . We have championship pedigree and you fall short your going to be bashed . Winning cures all ills.

Ask Merideth , Morton, Danny and Romo.

I don’t think Dak has an issue handling criticism, or at least I haven’t seen an issue yet.
