Why doesn't Dak step up in the pocket and avoid about half of these sacks? Is it just me or does he seem to always go back during the rush? I swear these coaches are just not teaching him the little things that would make a big difference. I don't think Garrett is going anywhere but lord we need a QB coach.........

I don't know whatever happened to designed roll outs?! Dak is much more comfortable on the move and seemingly makes quicker decisions either to throw, run or throw it away.

Doesn't have to do it all the time but keep the D guessing by moving the pocket. The pocket is atrocious at time at it's present state.

Worse yet Jerry has enough money he could hire Peyton Manning to be the QB coach its not like it counts against the cap. Coaching is the one thing you can buy that has an incredible impact on the team and Jerry is so slow coming around to realize this .

With the proper QB coaching Dak would be close to a finished product . With the water boy in charge of the job it could take 5 yrs as Dak will just learn everything the hard way

According to the data, dak is not good at throwing on the run.

Well, he's not that great at 3rd and long standing in the pocket either. I can't stand those sacks. So I rather see him move a little instead of a 2 yard dump off with no chance at 1st down.

I saw a lot of Mississippi state games when Dak was a senior when they went on that huge run to become the #1 team in the nation. I thought the OLine just flat out sucked because he would get crushed on just about every play and I never saw him step up in the pocket. I'm beginning to think he just doesn't feel comfortable doing that. Just like everything else in life Dak has his pros and cons.

How in the hell do you know they aren't teaching him. What proof you have that you can make a claim lke that, thers's also not always a pocket to step up into.

I doubt that Peyton would even consider coaching, at any price. He has more money than he can spend without putting in endless hours coaching. I think he makes more doing a few commercials than he could make in a year as a QB coach. Today's high-profile athletes (especially QB's) make so much money in a career that coaching simply isn't an option they consider.

Well, this says more about the QB than the play calling.

that's very true, very obvious in the strip sack on the 16 against the saints....he doesn't quite have the pocket awareness and if he would have just step up in the pocket he would have bought himself another second or more...

some of those are innate....he never looked to his right...how do you teach pocket awareness?

I agree. The Washington game and some in the atl game he did step up and had success. But he he didn't in the NO game and hasn't done it much at all this year. I'm a fan of his but that is one part of his game that i hate.

of the 17 completions he had in a row against the saints, did you count how many were thrown off the wrong foot?

Come on guys, this is about coaching. You think dak doesn’t know that he should slide up on occasion? It’s about feel and instincts. And right now dak has neither.

Hard to step up into the pocket when your center and LG are constantly getting pushed back into your face.

Absolutely agree. He has more experience and playing time than his QB coach. He needs to be coached on his footwork and stepping up. And using the middle of the field. Using the seam routes and middle of the field would open this Offense up.

Why in the world would Peyton take on a job as a qb coach? If he decides to get back into football, it would be as a part owner of a franchise.

It's about OC understanding the weakness of your own player and then trying to put him in a position of comfort to succeed.
Can’t throw from the pocket, can’t throw on the run. Perhaps we should ask dak to line up at receiver and throw from there?

Obviously I’m being sarcastic and I don’t think dak is that bad. But coaches can only do so much. Over the long run a guy is what he is.
