And if we end up mopping up the competition, some other fans will complain that the league was too easy on us.

I have to hand it to our fans, though. They're, if nothing else, creative. I just don't see how you guys invest so much time connecting the dots, i.e., refs conspiring to get us, the league conspiring to get us, etc. I just can't expend the energy to do so.

I hesitate greatly to feed the trolling conspiracy theorists, but here goes.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the "everybody is out to get us" nonsense of homers and crybaby fans. I hate it. The same can be heard in all 32 cities every year without fail. You can set your calendar by it.

But whether it's isolated, coordinated, scripted, or whatever, there is something that just isn't right these days. The Hardy suspension defies all logic and precedent, the salary cap penalties imposed a couple of years ago were entirely unwarranted, the manner in which the Dez review was conducted and ruled compared to other similar scenarios, the subsequent rules committee reaffirmation of that rule....there's this icky cloud hanging over the league all around, and in this case, as it's relating to the Cowboys.

The other day, I took a closer look at the schedule. Consider these interesting tidbits. Are these intentional?

1. The Giants play the Cowboys twice in the first six games. Just the right timing to make sure Eli doesn't face a pass rush with Greg Hardy if he receives the expected six games.

2. If Hardy receives only two games, let's make sure the Eagles benefit, too. Yes, TWO divisional games to start the season, which is both rare and extremely stupid.

3. New England gets a bye before going to Dallas.

4. Seattle gets 10 days before going to Dallas.

5. Philadelphia gets a bye before going to Dallas.

6. Dallas has back-to-back road games in Florida before playing on Thanksgiving on a short week. Then, it's back-to-back road games again in Washington and Green Bay.

7. Green Bay gets 10 days rest before hosting a road-weary Cowboys team in the cold.

8. The Cowboys schedule is front-loaded with the tougher teams, including all of the divisional games against New York and Philly.

Again, is this by chance, or intentional? Has Jerry so ticked off Goodell, Mara, Kraft, etc, with his whiskey-dripping arrogance that they sit in circles to stick it to him? Did 12-4 and the chance of another so shock and disgust the eastern blowhards that they felt the need to take action?

Of course, the best part of us says "Bring it!" But it skews the notion I've always held that the league is on the up-and-up. I'm certain that the NBA is fixed in many ways, and the lack of a salary cap accomplishes the same in baseball. But the NFL, I've always believed, is pristine because it can be. The game is too great and too big to care if a team in Green Bay wins a championship. It doesn't need help.

However, the whims and tantrums of wealthy owners with an axe to grind....let's just say Goodell hasn't earned a lick of confidence with his half-cocked and unpredictable wing-it ways these past many months.

I now objectively believe this bares watching.

Regarding the bye's, I saw a study done that looked at schedules for 2015 and the number of days of rest teams had between one another and measured differential. The Cowboys did not stand out in any way to regards other teams. Seattle is really getting it tough. So I don't think there is a lot there. .

That's good to know. Makes me feel better.

2013 saw us starting with the Giants to open the season and had Eagles and Skins within the 1st 7 games of the season.

Yes, but we also ended the season with those teams. This year we are done with the Giants and Eagles by like week 10. Then it's just the Commanders.

Bravo. There is a conspinacy against us. I do not half to tell you about the nighttime phone calls from those who say "back off" when i get to the truth; the drive-by water balloons thown at me from ruffians with ***skins and Eagles license plate holders; the letters signed by a "friend" who tell me to let mein investigation into the conspinacy fade away. The final mail in the muffin was when the Tri Lateral Confection passed a rumor that I half no running water and thus, mein household was in violation of strink ordinances in Farmers Branch. Well, I do half running water and the Tri Lateral Confection was just trying to dog me for loving the Silver and Blue, the Cowboys, America's Team.
The way i see it, the conspinacy started when Pete Rozzelli was commissioner. He tolt Tagliablue to help bring down the Cowboys. Then Tagliablue tolt Roger the baffoon to help kneecap the Cowboys. How you ax?
Well, with bad penalties. Very difficult schedules. Fines. Suspensions, hanging chads and fluoridation in the water.
When the nfl surreptitiously introduced the textbook "Why Green Bay Matters" into schools I read it and was disgustipated about references to the "Imperialists Running Dog Cowboys" and the "Expansionist Axis from Dallas."
More proof: the non-catch by Dez. We know it was a catch. You know it, I know, and Bob Dole know it.
When i start thinking about the complexity and the immensity of the conspinacy it boggles mein mind.
Believe it. We are noting only dealing with ruffians like the ***skins, Egirls and Green Bay Fakers, we are dealing with a conspinacy that keep on growing.
fight it. I fight it ever day with my writing and mein big brains. Together, we can make it work. Or not work against us.

Honestly I think this whole league is sketchy at times nothing against us personally but it seems a lot has happened in the last few years to even discuss this.

As you said Dallas finishes with the Commanders. However Dallas managed to beat these clubs last season without Hardy I expect them to do that again. Except this time I expect a healthy Lee and Ro McClain, I expect a young guy in Lawrence to enter this season much more developed and ready to go.

I pulled this information from reddit/r/nfl a few days ago.

The only two teams that have it worse than Dallas is Seattle and Washington, who to be fair, have it much worse. Philly has it pretty good, and the Giants are pretty much average.

I think John Mara hates Jerry Jones and Mara has Roger Goodell's ear. I have no doubt that Mara watching the game with Dean Blandino affected the outcome of that Packers playoff game. That shouldn't happen. The NFL has become the NBA or worse, Vince McMahn's professional wrestling. I'm close to being done with the NFL.

This year's NFL scheduling was no fluke.
What??? hadn't heard that before now. Why the hell would Blandino be anywhere except in the officiating offices during the game?

Not much of one for conspiracy theories, but the Cowboys are obviously the most hated team in the league, on top of being the most popular team. That's what accounts for the disproportionate negativity and attention we get. Fans zoom in on that and it becomes more than it is, but there's no doubt we get more of that negative attention than other squads do. It comes with the dinner, as Jason would say. Overall, we get the better end of the deal, so it's tough to complain about it too much.

The league itself, though, is being run about as poorly as I've ever seen it be run. And the owners don't seem to think they have a problem. The ship is already taking on water, and it could very easily get a lot worse. I'd like to see them getting back to just doing what they believe is right instead of doing what they think they can or should get away with. To use the most recent Cowboys example, if you think Hardy's actions merit a four game DV suspension, give him a 4 game suspension. Instead of the 10 game 'conduct detrimental to the league' nonsense that everybody expects is going to get knocked down to 4 or 6 games when it's all said and done. If you see Ray Rice hitting a woman in an elevator, give him the suspension that video merited and not try to sneak by with a two week suspension and pretending you never saw the footage. That stuff really undermines the credibility of the Commissioner's office, and it accomplished absolutely nothing. It's the kind of thing you do when you have a vacuum of actual leadership at the top.
