Somewhere.... Dan Marino is saying

that's the first thing I said.
Eli Manning had a ring, but Dan Marino doesn't. Let that soak in.

Just goes to show that it's not all about the QB unless a dominant pass rush counts:laugh2:

Yep.

Just shows you how important a good defense is to a championship run. You do need good QB'ing but it's very hard to do without being very solid on the other side of the ball.

Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have Super Bowl rings for the same reason, too. They had dominating defenses and they as QBs didn't make mistakes that lost the game for their team.

Limiting the mistakes at QB is huge. Think about if, if Neil ODonnell doesn't make two absolutely terrible throws, the Cowboys probably don't win their latest Super Bowl.

I think his heartbreak over seeing Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson or Jeff Hostetler get their's was worse.

Eli earned that ring yesterday.

Eli won 4 playoff games on the road and has a Trophy.

Isn't that how QB's are graded?

He made the plays when he had to.

Plunkett won two titles. Sorry, its not the same.

Yeah that is true, i guess I just view him as a journeyman who caught on a good team, like brad johnson.

He's been saying that since Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien,Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson as well as Ben Roethlisberger all got their hardware over the years.

He gets to sit beside the likes of Jake Delhomme, Donovan McNabb, Tony Eason, Drew Bledsoe, Boomer Esiason, Chris Chandler, Jim Kelly, Neil O'Donnell, Matt Hasselbeck and the great Stan Humphries as men that couldn't win the big one after him.

Those Raider teams were three years apart. They were pretty different.

The 1980 Raiders didn't have Marcus Allen, Matt Millen and Howie Long.

I believe Plunkett was a little better than the way you are portraying him. It is not like he was some journeyman who got lucky one year. He was a Heisman winner who needed to find the right situation and it is clear he did.

Well, he was on a couple of good teams in oakland-Los Angeles. He has two rings so that is all that matters. the 80 team still had plenty of good players.

The run game, Amani Toomer, David Tyree and the d-line earned that ring.

I won't be convinced that he played any better than he ever has.

If you watch the Giants' winning drive, Eli almost committed a turnover FOUR times -- three near-interceptions and a fumble.

Millen was on the 1980 team.

:) What's wrong with Ben Roethlisberger? That's like someone I knew was going to be good after he whooped us.
