Claiborne has some speed but he's not a burner. Unless Claiborne shows something this year then they have got not much on the outside. I like Oscan and I like Webb to develop as a slot guy sometimes outside guy, nickel/dime player. I don't know Moore that well and there's something about him that the coaches don't buy into.

I would say that Claiborne and Carr have similar speed.

The odd thing about trying to determine speed from game footage is that Heath ran past Scandrick twice during the season. I still can't quite figure out how it happened, but I watched one of the plays repeatedly and Heath started from behind Scandrick and ended up passing him to make the tackle.

I saw that too and my opinion of his potential changed. We are assuming he was running full speed as I would bet Heath was. I think Claiborne is a little faster than Carr but I've not seen them flat out running side by side. Some players can accelerate quickly to full speed and they appear faster than others and in one sense they are. Others run better at full speed and a few seem to have a second gear.

yea...i addressed it..

and if we don't draft a true free safety in the second round...we need to roll with carr at free safety and see if claiborne can carry his weight at cb... and cut his *** pronto if not.

I think Carr at least tackles well enough to play FS. BTW have read several scouts who thought Verrett was a top 10 pick if he was 6 foot tall. As it is he likely goes first round.

I also love Verrett, horned frogs got well coached defenders
