Sounds like Steele is on the hot seat

IMO, best 5 need to play along the OL. That means Smith to LT, Bass to LG, and Guyton can push Steele and compete for RT.

Hopefully Guyton is better suited at his familiar RT position and can be an upgrade there.

Steele as a swing OT isn’t awful. Add another OT and versatile interior OL for quality depth either at cuts, PS, or a trade and we are moving in the right direction.

Thomas and Shelton are PS players at this point and shouldn’t take up a spot on the 53.

OL is our weakest position group by far.

no he isnt.we literally have no backup for Steele(or Guyton),Shelton and Nate Thomas cannot start this year.

Throw the ball in 2 seconds or do what i did as a O Linemen

One good cut block where the defender goes from running to upside down will make them easier to block the remainder of the game

We are going to see Ferg/Spann/Schoon probably do a lot of chip blocking before running a route. Force the Edge either very wide or have to go back to Steele to give Dak enough time to complete the pass.

Or maybe just give Bass a shot at RT and keep everyone else where they are.

The roof on my house is not reliable. It leaks often, but not terribly. We recently had a huge storm, and it didn’t leak at all.

Should I fix the roof or just figure it’s going to hold up fine because it went that way last time?

If you have the resources to fix it you should fix it. But if you waited this long maybe hope it holds up fine until next season lol.

Offensive line will be our demise. Hopefully CP defense can produce a lot of turnovers to get our offense more opportunities.
Really you mean the same exact offensive line that was part of our most top five offense last year our offense was rolling last year even with those weak points the same exact roster is rolling out on offense this year I don't see many changes that you can even speak of..

It was a top offense last year with the most horrible defense on the planet I mean in the universe they rolled everyone knew you had to run out there and try to move your offense and it was not a demise yes it's a weak spot but you can't have steak and Pro Bowlers and all pros at every position I hate to break it to you but even the Super Bowl teams do not have five great lineman did not have depth like that you have to cover up some of your weaknesses but that's crazy it's gonna be our demise it's the same damn offense from last year and by the way Prescott has done this and so has Romo with less than stellar offensive lines you just work around it but we've always had a top 10 offense when our starting quarterback has been healthy..

That's a fact I mean II can't remember a time her offense was outside the top 10 and most of the time I remember several top fives and several top three's with a couple of ones I mean this is not our problem yes we need to try to find a way to make it better but when the lights come on and the game plans come out they will find ways with the tight ends and the full backs and the running back still work it out other teams have to work it out...

Yeah I mean the offense was fine with Steele last year. Unless he’s Chaz Green bad they just have to figure it out
Right I think people forget that now it's a demise we're in trouble we hope the defense can save the offense 'cause our tackles are bad seriously did anybody watch last year has anybody watched the last 15 plus years where our healthy quarterbacks keep our offense in the top ten at worst I mean most of our offenses are top 5 with a healthy quarterback regardless of what's going on up front..

We will really be exposed in this area against a better teams and this is where the coaches and the game plans even Adams have to find ways against better teams that have premier pass rushers to find a way to cover up your weaknesses you can't have all pros at every damn position I think people think that you should Have like 5 Pro Bowlers up there up front and then their depth pieces should also be like veteran Pro Bowlers like it should just be 53 players that are all all pros because that's what every team has I mean the Cowboys are just so stupid because they can't find 53 players that are all Pro Bowlers so the fans think we're OK...

lmao

Yes note sarcasm..

Everybody including our fan base and our opponents know that those are our weak spots they have to find a way to get better I mean everyone thought when Adams came in here last year he might be headed to some head coaching job or his first real offensive coordinator job and by the way I don't see that getting better so I don't care how good he is he's not leaving soon because if he can't fix that spot well we'll keep him around a little while longer.lol

Note more sarcasm..:muttley::popcorn:.

Your a real peach. He didn't talk about the defense in that clip. He talked about how Steele needs to improve. You keep up sir.
Yes and every time we hear players talk they say one thing it's the standard reply it's like coach speak but players speak we need to improve we're not at our best there's always room for improvement we need to see more consistency blah blah blah we need to show up in big moments yes he said that but there also in the reality of they had one of the top offenses in the league last year with the same exact lineup the same starting 11 players will be there again next year I'm pretty sure it's the same exact 11 I mean maybe I'm missing somebody but a little bit of the depth pieces might be different but it's almost the exact same offense from top to bottom with very few changes..

Think they're that worried about it but right now there is not a better player on the team that can replace Guyton or steele and that's the reality of it..

We all get it this is not new news just because he said it in the clip that's one clip that was shared the guy you're responding to is correct they've been saying that about a lot of guys on all sides of the ball..

It's just pretty standard practice to point out and try to send a message to a guy is being passive aggressive it's a little note being passed on they all know it everybody knows it Our opponents know it the fan base knows it and yet still this was one of the top offenses in the league last year..

Did you see that last year?

NO? Exactly.
Actually I believe they did and I believe that is why they suffered in the past game the shorter routes all that was by design because they were staying in a little longer than normal I don't think any of our TEs had a Good year last year,

And they have to do what they have to do but that was probably the most let down of the whole entire offense was that position so hopefully they can improve there..

Not expecting it a lot and no I'm not gonna go breakdown and find analytics of how often our TE group stayed in and blocked but I guarantee it was a lot more than usual...

I didn't say he did. Actions speak louder than words. And I'm right, they are moving players around.
Correct their focus is on finding the right mix on defense If you look at the whole entire offseason and at a whole the offense has pretty much been ignored it's pretty much the same players is last year outside a few little auditions here there may be the draft but it's almost the same exact group I mean I remember Hoffman left Sanders got hurt last year anyway so what's actually new to this offense as far as the players who are gonna give the most reps?

Like the defense they're very concerned about that that's why they're gonna need all the reps they can get the rest of this offseason and camp and preseason games to figure this out..

Fair responses but this is in defense of what was an attack on my post. Big dog here said that Shotty didn't say what my post said. Yes, that part was a puff piece I added to it that he is on the hot seat. He continues with telling me I need to keep up.

I don't make posts here a lot (this actually was my first) and tend to look at what other people have put, and add to their posts. I felt it was news worthy because, I have seen many other coaches here that would of just plugged Steele in as a starter because of what he is currently getting paid. From what he said and from what he is doing on that O line, he is most definitely making him uncomfortable. You want to debate Cowboy stuff fine. I don't claim to know everything and respect opposite opinions. Calling my post fake news and saying I need to keep up is a personal attack. I am just trying to add to this community, not trying to get attention.

I hate this, but the logical move is to kick Smith out to left tackle and Guyton over to right tackle.

Look we're all full of opinions and way we comprehend or breakdown what people are saying in interviews it doesn't matter we know the reality is the defense needs to show up big time the leap is much bigger the gap is huge,

we're bringing back the same offense, and the reality is yes, the weak spot is both tackles I don't want to hear how Guyton's improved either..

he's saying that but I watched him pretty much nearly shut down Myles Garrett in game one a couple years back and did a really good job about it, but his problem is inconsistencies, injuries, he gets mentally checked out he's like the new Mo Claiborn, You know a first round talent have all the talent in the world and yet the injuries in his mental makeup just couldn't keep himself on track..

So yes,

we're all worried about the tackles,

but again we're more worried about the defense I think we saw what our offense can do last year the same offenses here this year and I'm hoping Adams can finds a good mix but I don't think Steel is on the hot seat There's nobody here to replace him..

Will agree they do need to bring in a veteran long reliever type to be the swing tackle just in case I don't think they're going to replace the starters to begin the season no matter how the rest of the preseason goes.

So this is what I'm hearing I don't think they trust either tackle but they know that they have enough there with the rest of the offense to be OK but they're going to wait until after cut downs That means when camp fully breaks and the preseason is over and they'll see what's out there and I believe they will bolster that area like they kind of did with Peters although Peters was more of an inside guy but we need a guy like that to just be there just in case II just gonna use a baseball reference two or three Times Now it's a long reliever a guy coming a couple games you know Hoffman and Bass has done a good job being those guys on the inside,

We need some of that on the outside but I think they're going to wait until after all this is over to see if whatever they have on the roster steps up if not I think yes they need to go out and get not a starter but a viable veteran tackle to be the swing tackle..
