Sour Grapes Apology

Hey guys, most of you know I'm a Commanders fan. If I've shown any sour grapes over the last 2 weeks, I apologize. I am not a Dallas fan and never will be- but I do like alot of the posters in this forum and many of these threads are good reads. It does gall me that Dallas (the one other NFC East team that's been as inept in the playoffs as us the last 15 years) is now experiencing success - but that's my problem not yours.

So for those of you who are true fans of your team, and I believe many of you are - I know that you know that this kind of opportunity doesn't roll around often and I hope you guys are savoring every second of it. Yet to my chagrin it looks like you all are much more likely to repeat as NFC East Champs than the other 3 teams.

As much as it would suck if you guys made it to the NFC Championship or Super Bowl - I can only pray that it is a wakeup call for Snyder, if his best owner friend Jerry Jones wins the Super Bowl - maybe in my lifetime he learns how to become a better owner. So yeah, if it means a bunch of people here being happy I guess there could be worse things in life than Dallas having more success this postseason.

Sounds like you're safely on your way to becoming a convert. Don't fight that feeling any longer. It's not too late for you to hop on and enjoy the ride.

Maybe it's weird but unless it's the Eagles I always root for the NFC east after the Boys are eliminated. Keep it in the division sort of thing.

Actually Snyder's moves of the past few weeks are promising. The Commanders will rise again, but not until the Cowboys hoist the Lombardi once more...

One of my best friends is a skins fan. If he said something like this i would lose respect for him. I can at least appreciate bitterness. Just cling to the picked up flag and everyone will feel better.

He's as likely to convert to a cowboys fan as we are to Commander fans. The last kind of fan I want on our side is a turncoat or bandwagon, I'm not sure which is worse. While I respect your allegiance to the skins, I've never rooted for that team in any game unless it benefited dallas in some way. Maybe you're just a better person than me. The vision of Riggins running for that TD on 4th and short against Miami still churns my stomach. But I'd still drink a beer with you before our teams played each other. Nothing personal, I've just been sporting Dallas jerseys since I've been old enough to watch football.

I could not care less about Commanders.. or, sour grapes. I hope the Commanders stay at the bottom of the NFCE and the NFL for years, years, and years to come.

I do not vote for ANY other NFCE team. That is blasphemy. I vote for one team, one team only.. Cowboys..

Well, correction.. ANY team playing against the giants, eagles or Commanders. Unless those teams are playing against each other, which, in that regard, I hope both teams beat the snot out of each other and the game ends in a tie.

This and, ANY team that is facing the stealers, niners in the Superbowl.

I respect your staying the course a course that shows your true fandom. I hate the Commanders but some of most exciting games that I watched or listened to over the radio while growing up in Texas was against the George Allen led Commanders. Nail biters and to heck with either teams record a lot of them were that intense with lead changes and last minute heroics by someone. I would as a true fan of the Cowboys hate the Commanders to advance to the playoffs or Super Bowl. Your owner never seems to learn or trust those he pays to take the Commanders to the next level. I never understood the parting of the ways with Schottenheimer. But am glad that ended that soon. Of the three 8-8 seasons we went through last year was the hardest for me. I had so much hope for the 2013 team and when we got a chance to still make it in week 16 and then we yet again lost and we were done for the year it was like losing a family member to me. Football just abruptly ended all of a sudden on a team that I believed would go at least into the playoffs. I'm sure with all the hype surrounding RGIII leading into this year gave your fan base a lot of hope just to be let down hard when it wasn't to be. So in closing I do feel ya!

The only time I root against the East in the playoffs is Philly.

I did once root for Denver in the SB over the Skins, but that was more because of Dan Reeves.
