I'm so tired of hearing what a great rivarly it is between us and the Commanders, maybe it was in the 70's and 80's cause George Allen wanted you to think that, but the fact of the matter is, the Commanders need us to be their hated rival cause frankly they would be irrelevent without us!! same could be said about the Eagles. I hardly ever look forward to Commander games anymore than any other game, unless we are playing for something meaningful.

I could not care less about Commanders.. or, sour grapes. I hope the Commanders stay at the bottom of the NFCE and the NFL for years, years, and years to come.

I do not vote for ANY other NFCE team. That is blasphemy. I vote for one team, one team only.. Cowboys..

Well, correction.. ANY team playing against the giants, eagles or Commanders. Unless those teams are playing against each other, which, in that regard, I hope both teams beat the snot out of each other and the game ends in a tie.

This and, ANY team that is facing the stealers, niners in the Superbowl.

I'm the same way. It's the only thing that gives me pleasure after the Cowboys are out of it.

Even though Commanders are the "archrival" of the Cowboys, I don't necessarily root against them unless the division lead is within grasp.

I will ALWAYS root against the Giants and Eagles, even if they aren't even close to being competitive that year. I LOVE when they lose.

I cant do that, BUT I usually pull for the NFC team in the Super Bowl. I was pulling for Giants vs the Pats that year...

I will root for a rival only if it directly benefits the Cowboys. If they aren't in the playoffs, I'll root for a team that has the least titles (non-rival) so as to protect our 5. In other words, I'd rather see the Seahawks win their 2nd than the Patriots win their 4th.

The NFL for me consists of the Dallas Cowboys and 31 enemies.

I think sometimes people just forget we are all just FOOTBALL fans. Imagine how bad it would be if everybody was a Cowboy fan. We are just lucky in that we are Cowboy fans and they are America's team.

Can't root for them, but their success validates the division certainly. (I do think NFC East - other than this year - is one of the stronger divisions in the league)

Well said. I like pulling for the underdog ie. Saints. I definitely hate the Steelers, 49ers, Eagles, Giants and Commanders. Want them to suck forever.

Why would anyone suggest he should become a bandwagon fan? Or change his allegiance from Washington to Dallas?

Anyone who thinks you can change allegiances or teams doesn't really know what being a fan is all about.

For me, being a fan of the cowboys is something deep down inside that I didn't chose (Dad raised me that way) and I can't change (because I could never feel as passionate about any sports teams as I do this one).

Hey guys, most of you know I'm a Commanders fan. If I've shown any sour grapes over the last 2 weeks, I apologize. I am not a Dallas fan and never will be- but I do like alot of the posters in this forum and many of these threads are good reads. It does gall me that Dallas (the one other NFC East team that's been as inept in the playoffs as us the last 15 years) is now experiencing success - but that's my problem not yours.

So for those of you who are true fans of your team, and I believe many of you are - I know that you know that this kind of opportunity doesn't roll around often and I hope you guys are savoring every second of it. Yet to my chagrin it looks like you all are much more likely to repeat as NFC East Champs than the other 3 teams.

As much as it would suck if you guys made it to the NFC Championship or Super Bowl - I can only pray that it is a wakeup call for Snyder, if his best owner friend Jerry Jones wins the Super Bowl - maybe in my lifetime he learns how to become a better owner. So yeah, if it means a bunch of people here being happy I guess there could be worse things in life than Dallas having more success this postseason.
