I say forget it, and lets just draft at least two CB's and call it a day.

There ya go... a voice of reason... this is an uncommonly good group of corners...

With 2 #1s in a deep CB draft, we do not NEED Jones at all. He would be a worth a look because he wants to come here, but I wouldn't give more than a 6th this year or a conditional 4th next year and no money to Tenn. They gambled and lost, why should we pay for their mistake when he hasn't even been re-instated?

He sure did on the police blotter too.

If the guy didn't have the baggage he does, he'd be a lot more valuable.

But he does have baggage.

And plenty of it.

Enough to give three bellhops hernias...

Sometimes the best trade is the one you don't make.

It just isn't smart to bet much on Pacman keeping his nose clean for the foreseeable future.

I remain confused why this board feels the Titans are "desperate." In the worst case, the Titans keep Jones and he plays for their team. It's strictly a value proposition. Beyond a bit of cap room and some draft picks, the Titans do not have much incentive. We'll see.

You ignore that they have clearly and repeatedly said they don't WANT him...

IMO, people might say this is being a Cowboys homer; but the longer the Titans wait in this whole PacMan thing the less they are going to get for him...............................

If you're playing poker, and somebody tries to bluff, and you're holding a full boat, aces over queens, what do you do??

You call the bluff... the Titans are trying to run a bluff, and the Boys are holding a really strong hand...

If Belichek was Machavellian he'd express "serious interest" in Pac-Man. then Jerra would cave and offer up a 4th-round draft pick and Belichek and Kraft would walk away chuckling.

Seriously, I do expect Jerra to cave and offer up more. He has not expended this much time and prestige to walk away now.
Jerra is on to a good thing and he knows it.
It will get done. Give it a week or so and the Titans will come around.

Well, if the Titans come around, then Jerry is not "Caving". I don't agree with our assesment of Jerry. I don't believe he is as weak in matters of business as you. I think Jerry will do the right thing. In my mind, the right thing is not to over pay for trouble.

Jerry cannot cave in to the Titans. Packman is a big risk but Jerry is willing to take the chance so long as we can afford to walk away if he gets into trouble again -- which isn't unlikely. Fourth round draft picks are valued. Pats gave up a 4th for Randy Moss; we've drafted MBIII, Canty & others who have produced for this team. A 5th rounder is more realistic & I can go along with giving the Titans that; besides our 5th picks haven't done well at all. Even our 6th rounders have done well producing Folk, Deon Anderson, Ratliff, etc. And giving the Titans bonus money to help them with Pacman's contract which would count against our cap. Titans are blowing something and it's not legal.

I've maintained all along that Titans owner Bud Adams is the one making these outrageous demands cause he wants to come out looking great and being the man to force Jerry to make a deal that no longer is to our benefit. It's time for Jerry to walk away and end this charade. BTW: I'm one of those who thinks it's a pretty good idea to trade for Pacman but only if we don't give up much and can cut him immediately if he gets in trouble again - assuming he even plays a whole season for us -- something I wouldn't bet on.

Jerry should not offer anything more. i called this a week ago. let the Titans keep Pacman or let them trade him to someone else. we need to draft 2 CB's in the fist three rounds. the heck with the Titans and pacman. dont do it Jerry.

I would offer a 6th this year and a conditional 4th next year. It would give them a draft pick this year, and would reward them if Jones doesn't act up. Why give up a 4th this year and then all of a sudden he goes to a strip club and we lose a 4th rounder and a player.

it is very likely if he isn't traded to the cowboys with a proven record and system set up to handle troubled players that he won't be reinstated by the commish. My prediction if no trade is made he won't be playing for ten. if trade made commish will say cowboys have a great prorgam invested picks in him... image what would happen if we sent picks and he wasn't allowed to ever play..

i actually like the fact that were trying to play some gamesmanship here right back at the Titans. Its pretty obvious to me that the Titans are the ones that have been leaking all this nonsense to the press. Fishers been making public comments and so has their GM.

Its nice to see that a 'Cowboys source' is saying screw you Titans this is not working out.

If they are wanting to play it out in the press and its pretty obvious they do then this is a nice shot across the bow.

Youve already seen articles begin to pop up that we should just walk away and it further undermines their already tenuous position.

This deal may never work out because the Titans are dramatically overvaluing their commodity. As my economics teacher told me, sunk costs, like 6th overall choices and signing bonuses, are irrelevant; its what the market bears that is important or you will never get anything done.

Screw them. If they want to sit on him and get nothing for a player they want to be rid of anyway then so be it.

Randy Moss was traded to the Raiders for the 7th overall pick. Two years later they got a 4th rounder for him. Last time i checked, Moss wasnt one arrest away from a lifetime ban. Thats the market and the Titans are idiots.

I agree, we should just walk away right now.

We are the only team interested in Pac and we make a fair offer and the Titans throw this crap in our face, wanting bonus money repaid:eek:

If Pac is so dam valuable, the Titans can keep his arse.

Jerry needs to say forget you to Fisher and Bud Adams and walk away now.

The Titans have little incentive to make this deal except for the draft picks. The Cowboys are the ones who both need and want Pacman (who, for all his problems, is a proven commodity). We are not is a strong position to bargain, IMO. Our bargaining position is also hurt by every additional bidder if there are any.

That being said, if we reimburse the Titans bonus money, doesn't that come straight off our cap numbers? I see bargaining, but not a reimbusement of dollars. The Titan's benefit is in draft picks, not money.

I disagree. The Titans have stated previously they want no part of Adam Jones and now all the sudden they'll keep him because Dallas wants him? Who else is trying to trade for him? Doesn't seem like anybody is other then Dallas. My guess is because no other team wants a piece of him after him stating he wants to play for Dallas. I don't think any team wants to take a chance at him being upset or a distraction in anyway. Last there isn't a team in the league that's going to pay the price their asking, so Dallas has ZERO incentive to even contemplate that deal.

Edge = Jerry and the Cowboys

Yep, and remember the Titans are going to have a fun time with Pacman if they don't get the trade done. Something tells me he's not going to be too happy. Of course none of this surprises me with Bud Adams as owner.

Titans, at this point, just need a way to "save face" and yet just take the offer, the only offer..........been too much scrutiny

they have talked themselves into a corner, but pride now a factor, Jerry needs to give them some rope to look good in the media.........deal will then move fwd.
