I would really hope that nobody in the media has any information on the Cowboys' draft board.
I agree. And I seriously doubt it. I just can't see scouts whose job it is to find the right players for Dallas giving information to guides like Mayock, Kiper and McShay.
I think the discussions any of those draft experts have with people inside the organization is based on general information, i.e., who do you have as your top quarterbacks, who do you have as your top linemen, etc. If that person were available, would you take him?
From that, they draw conclusions. And I think the people inside feed them misinformation. Or, I think what happens is that teams are talking to other teams and other teams tell the draft experts who the other team is looking at taking. I say this because Bill Polian was on Mike and Mike, and he said teams are pretty much calling and setting up possible trades and, if they do, they want to make sure the guy they want is available. So they filter out who the other teams might want without actually asking them directly.
It's against the best interest of anyone in the Dallas camps to share confidential and classified information about who they're going to take.
Again, it really doesn't make sense to me unless you're trying to mislead outsiders on your real intentions.
