Sources: Cowboys’ Randy Gregory could delay reinstatement bid

Jerry will talk him into re-applying. We can use him in the playoffs.

Once the year is up will he be reinstated automatically?? Does the league still decide when he can return if we're passed the anniversary date if the one year suspension?

Are there really still people on this board with a hopeful outcome for this guy? There a lot of things I dont get, but this one is waaaaay up there.
the Jones, Garret, McClay, Rod M.........must see a ray of hope in the kid.......kid needs the support, hang with it.....if there is a chance, stay with it.

Let’s just all hope that David Wells is involved in all of this. Maybe he can live in Royce West’s house.

Not saying kick him to the curb, but what does the logical part of your brain say to you about the situation? Mine is screaming for what ever the reasons are, it just isnt going to happen for him.

His "disease" is that he is bi-polar. Best I can tell from info that has been put into the public is that he continues to self-medicate with marijuana, a substance banned by the NFL.

It's highly unfortunate that he has chosen marijuana to self-medicate on because, unlike a whole host of diseases and conditions where marijuana HAS been proven to be helpful, there is no evidence marijuana is helpful with the bipolar condition.

If "it's time to move on", it's because Gregory continues to self-medicate with marijuana, almost certainly against the recommendation of most, if not all, of the doctors he has consulted with.
I wasn’t referring to his bi-polar disorder (disease)

This is a sad story. He sounds like he is still struggling with this disease.

Regardless of the NFL the guy is a human and I feel empathy for him and hope for the best.

My best friend has bipolar 2...aka: manic depressive disorder. He's been a marijuana smoker most of his life, but it's a daily battle and he's often suicidal. I feel for RG and pray he finds peace: football or no football.

Odds might well be against him...........but its not a situation where the odds have to be played....The Jones's are doing the right thing to give him every chance available. Not taking a roster spot, not a cap drain.....its just the right thing to do.

Obviously this dude is nuts and can't function, all anybody ever says is he needs time to work stuff out. How's about We let this free American smoke his happy medicine and play his sports game while he's still young and if he doesn't wanna play football at the end of his rookie contract he can pursue other interests? What good is he doing himself and society by being put in purgatory? He's not growing or bettering bi self or accomplishing anything. He's living off signing bonuses and delaying adulthood or a firm decision on his future. They're not helping him, they're protecting their image and damaging this guys life. This is bad.

lol, good grief.

At least you aren't pretending you care at all about the guy.

That all well and good, but it is time we moved on from this mistake of a pick.

That's sad. But why did we draft this guy then?

The head coach wondering the same thing until Jerry talked him into it on draft day. Some knew he was a loser then and well, still is it seems.

Hope your friend finds peace also

Nothing to see until Jan.
Exactly

November is just when he can begin the process of re-applying...... the League won't act quickly and he has to wait until January at least for the whole year to pass...... the NFL will not re-instate him for the playoffs in 2017.......not a chance

It is 2018 at the earliest and that is a question...... Josh Gordon is still not allowed back and Martavis Bryant was dragged out a few extra months on a conditional basis
