Well, this pretty much does it for the Giants' season. Unless David Carr acts like Tom Brady when he came in for Bledsoe.

Okay, season is done.

Hey Tom,

Until the Giants are "mathematically" eliminated, they are not done.

Dallas will not be cruising into the Meadowlands and sleepwalk a win. The Cowboys have a December monkey to get off their back, not to mention the team that spoiled the inaugural game at Cowboys Stadium.

Excuse for what? The Giants' poor play? They have already publicly stated that they are not playing well. There haven't been excuses made at all. Whether Eli stays in or not, the Giants are not making the playoffs. They know it and they know it is due to poor play by the O and D lines but especially the OLine. O'Hara and Snee have made it clear they know this is on them and they don't know how to fix it.

Any thoughts on not only getting beat by Denver, but thoroughly embarrassed and destroyed in every aspect of the game? Before you reply, I'm aware we lost to them as well, but we weren't cataclysmically annihilated like the Giants.

No team is eliminated from the playoffs until they actually are. I agree that regardless of what happens today, the Giants are still in it until proven otherwise. As far as the team is concerned, I believe that they will be less motivated for beating the Giants, based upon what happened in previous seasons or New York leaving with a W last September; and more motivated towards proving that they handed their last meeting over on a silver platter.

I thought they were talking about his emotional condition leading up to facing our pass rush. Ware, Rat and Spencer will give him a stress reaction.

I was thinking a bad case of hives!

Stress fractures in the feet can, in some cases, end guys careers, right?

I guess its a lot more in common in basketball players due to them constantly pounding their feet, but a right-handed QB pushes off his right (back) foot when throwing.

When I hear stress fracture in the foot I always think of Sam Bowie and the problems he had.

eli manning is a tough dude. He is not going to miss a single snap.

yeah but he maybe playing now with problems that may lead to fumbles or interceptions

which may help us win the game

of course we have to go out and play hard and mad at what eli and giants players did in the visitors locker room, while jacobs stomped on the star at end of game

I believe he's really that hurt. I figured, weeks ago, when he kept playing on that injury that he'd eventually hurt himself more cause the Plantar thing, as we saw with Newman here, doesn't go away or get better by trying to play on it week after week.

This isn't shocking, at all. I still expect him to be out there and doing his best to spoil our season though. I'm not going to shut down the Giants as completely done until they're actually done.

Stress Reactions are no big deal. He may not practice for a couple days (at least not at full speed) and will wear a boot around most of the time but it won't keep him out Sunday.

I hate making excuses for own own players so I seldom do it for the opposition.......but you have to admit Eli was playing some of his best football earlier this year. I think it's obvious this foot injury has really hindered him.

I'm not a big fan of sending too many rushers too often. I believe in mixing it up, but prefer to keep 7 in coverage and let our superior pass rushers (Ware and Ratliff) do what they do.

This Sunday should be the exception. Send them early and often. I'm talking 5-6 guys on most plays with a heavy dose right up the middle. Force him out of the pocket moving on that bad foot.

Am I the only one that questions this as a protective excuse story?

It will be for the fans at least, if you get in a debate mention Romo's hip/back problems

I would rather him play....don't want the Giants playing inspired and the Cowboys to let down because they are playing against a backup

I'm not writing the Giants off. Yet anyway. I will as soon as I possibly can though.
