I know you are kidding with no malice intended but I wish the board had some mechanism to check the well-being of posters who posting stop posting after a certain gap. Good or bad, friends or adversaries many have known each other for years and in some cases more than people in real life. I guess Mod having an emergency email contact to make sure posters are OK, health-wise. Just a thought......
Agreed. Look how long it took to find out Couchcoach had passed. And that was thanks to a group effort and searching, mostly by @Bobhaze

Rockport would often disappear in the off season and never in the regular season, so this was out of character. That's why I posted the question on whether he was alive or if something had happened. It reminded me of the CouchCoach situation.

Hawk, I wish we could have a mechanism like the one you mentioned above. It would be great if when you sign up there was some kind of emergency contact info. Some people want their absolute privacy and I completely understand. But sure would be nice to know how some members who have disappeared are doing.

There are so many great people on this forum. Many I’ve disagreed with. But I hate the thought of someone who may live alone and may have some major health challenges we don’t know about. Would be nice to be able to send them an encouraging message.

This is why we should always remember to avoid the personal attacks on each other. Disagree all you want. But everyone on here deserves being treated with dignity.

No. You are talking strawmen, and inventing arguments I never made.
No, that is presented in your posts...no need for me to attach to lack of value and ethics. Even if attitude insultive is supported here. Not just disagreement of value in an aspect of evaluation, not applied updates.

I get the sentiment here but do you realize the magnitude of check-ins there would be with posters coming and going, not to mention lurkers? Or is it just about checking on those who post a lot and suddenly don't? Some check out during the off-season and wind up not returning. Others I'm sure just want to be left alone. You're talking about other posters reaching out and not Mods, right?

Sentiment of caring doesn't always have to be deleted because of every maybe in the world...that is a morale.

01_brian_schottenheimer

FRISCO, Texas – Let's see, seems to be open season on the Cowboys. The piling on has become the newest national rage.
Whatever they do and however they do it, well, it's wrong, and well before any results are established. No factual reasons, just that's it's the Cowboys and Jerry Jones.
Latest example being the hiring of Brian Schottenheimer as the 10th head coach in the franchise's now starting 66-season history. The criticism is nearly universal. Print media. Electronic media. Radio entertainers. Social opinionators wishing they were considered media.
And the disgruntled fans.

The past continues to haunt the Cowboys, their failures since winning three Super Bowls in four years from 1992-95 but not a one since. We know the facts facing a franchise that had won five Super Bowls in the first 30-year history of the Super Bowl, though having advanced to the "ultimate game" three other times and two more to the NFL Championship in the first two years of the Super Bowl era.

Back off Boogaloo is what I'm hearing
The Dallas Cowboys introduced their newest head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, on Monday, and ever since then have been busy building the staff that will work underneath the first-time head coach promoted from the offensive coordinator role. The hires will be just one piece of the puzzle to seeing how the 2025 Cowboys differ from the team that just suffered through a 7-10 season, with the next being the full player acquisition phase to reinfuse the roster with talent. A major step in this process is already underway with the two college All-Star bowls, and the Cowboys have done well to move just quickly enough to have something of a staff direction in place while evaluating draft prospects.

Brian Schottenheimer’s introductory press conference was technically the first chance to gather info on the new direction of the franchise, with the new head ball coach seated between both Jerry and Stephen Jones. As silly as it seemingly is, there is such a perceived thing as “winning a press conference” in today’s NFL. Whether or not the Cowboys did this when introducing Schottenheimer is almost entirely dependent on any given fan’s opinion on the hire before ever hearing a word from either the front office of Schotty himself. There was not all that much from Monday’s proceedings that turned those against the hire from the start into Schottenheimer’s biggest fans and believers in the whole process, and those in favor of the hire shouldn’t have heard anything that completely swayed them the other way either.
