The first round of cuts, down to 75, come Tuesday, then the fourth preseason game on Thursday and the final cuts to 53 on Saturday. So that means there are only seven practices remaining before the Cowboys must open the season against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 7 at AT&T Stadium.

The clock is ticking.

And the Cowboys still are tinkering, still trying to figure out just who will be the starting middle linebacker, which in turn affects just who will be the starting outside linebackers.

They still are tinkering with just who will be the starting weak-side defensive end, which is turning into an all-comers meet, and that in turn possibly affects one of the starting outside linebacker positions, meaning stay with me on this one.

No doubt he can help, but is anybody comfortable that we are sorta counting on him?

Did he say what the double trouble was?

Just skimmed it and he just seemed to mention a bunch of guys.

So far, it appears our much ridiculed GM made a fantastic trade. Or, is it just luck or perhaps, the all-world, can-do-no-wrong GM Ozzie just had a momentary lapse of reason.

At first, I was a little leery of the trade but given Lee's injury a much needed player. Then, the details came out and it was really a low-risk, high potential reward trade. Hopefully, McClain can stay healthy and play to his talent.

If he is so good, why was he available?

Its like you finally meet a hot girl and you hit it off. She's interested in what you have to say and you think "Hey, this could happen!" You have a great time so you give her your number and she ends up calling you back, and you're like "Hey, this could happen!" Then she keeps calling, and keeps calling, and keeps calling.... and you find out she's nuts. And then you understand why she was available, and why she was interested in you and you realize.... you're still a loser... or so I've been told. :D

That's how I've always felt about Lee. If RM can keep his head screwed on, he will be well worth what we are paying him..

I would wait until he plays more than a quarter of a preseason to start popping bottles of champagne.
