I still hope we get Brooks and are able to keep those first two picks in the process so we can address other needs. That would be ideal to me. We get a vet LB who was first-team All-Pro last year and we can still add a DE/OLB and a CB or S or DT.

I don't care about that. There are many ways that can be taken care of. I care about acquiring as much talent as we can to improve this defense. Brooks is likely much better than any player we can luck upon in the third round or later.

You want to use a first to fix linebacker? That means you miss out on the chance to also fix another position with a first-round pick.

If Miami wants a first-round pick for Brooks, then don't trade for him, but if it will take a third or something like a swap of firsts (20 for 30 and Brooks) with a later-round pick added, I'm all for that and figuring out what to do with Brooks next year after this season.
