Spagnola: the truth behind Emmitt-less losses *MERGE*

I can see Micky reading old comments about the old Cowboy's pre-internet and then writing his column while eating a Whataburger while sitting poolside. Most of what he writes about is about as good as a day old Whataburger left by the poolside.

The truth is with Emmitt Smith the Cowboys could use play action, feature the back out the back field, get single coverage on WR because a S had to be committed to stop Smith, and the Cowboys could use time of possession to control the game.

In 1993, the Cowboys lost those first 2 games because the did not and adjust to football without Emmitt Smith who was a critical part of the offense. Here is an old article regarding the Smith holdout and the Cowboys losing:

At any rate, I've already addressed your point. I don't operate as if I'm infallible. It's not a huge blow to my ego if I misspeak. It is for some people, though. Shrug.
