Any of you watching this series?

Damn, I love it. I love period pieces like The Tudors, Rome etc but Spartacus is really pushing the envelope.

In the first episode, in the first ten minutes there were what 3 sex scenes and 30 people killed (probably exaggerating on both counts).

The show has it all, intrigue, gladiator fights, blood, guts, gore, limbs cut off, and of course borderline porn on cable tv.

Can't wait for it to be released on DVD so I can own it.

Gladiator was fine.

they even have the Roman women flashing the gladiators from the stands. I wonder if any woman has ever flashed Romo from the stands at Cowboys Stadium?

the series is a joke. There was a review on it calling it Spurticus that was way totally hilarious and politically incorrect, which is probably why it disapeared in a couple of days.

The show has gotten much better than the first episode.
Still not as good as HBO's Rome series but it has gotten pretty good.

The nudity and sex scenes are a bit over done but then again they did similar things on the show Rome. The only thing that remains over the top now is the blood splatter parts.

Either way it has gotten better.

Don't know if you heard this but Andy Whitfield was just diagnosed with cancer.

NEW YORK — Andy Whitfield, who plays the title role in the Starz Original series "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The British-born actor will begin treatment immediately.

The network says the cancer was discovered during a routine checkup as the 38-year-old Whitfield prepared to begin shooting the second season of the action-adventure series, which is filmed in New Zealand.
Starz said Tuesday that production has been postponed while Whitfield undergoes treatment.

According to the network, doctors say the cancer was detected in its early stages and is "very treatable."

"Spartacus" is based on the slave and folk hero from the 1st century B.C. The show has been a breakout success for Starz since it premiered in January. The first season concludes next month.

Of course the show is unrealistic, it's a tv show. It would be awesome in 3D for sure with the blood and guts flying everywhere.

It is edgier than Rome and the sex scenes a little more graphic which only adds to its charm.

I watched the entire 8 episodes w/ the 9th coming soon on Netflix instant last Saturday.

I like the show.


Very entertaining. The blood is way over the top. I really don't think tbere is that much blood in the human body, but the splatter effect is pretty neat.

I want some hot slave women to tend my bath.
