I think she was saying they would do something like a Prequel, in case he isn't done with his Cancer treatment.

But as you stated, there is no question where the story will go, once he gets back.

Wow, I didn't realize that was Lucy Lawless as a red headed. Last time I saw her, it was on Battlestar Galactica.

So it would be without him?

I finished the 1st season the other night.

Absolutely loved the show.

I actually enjoy the over the top blood splatter effects. The nudie dancing and interaction is also a plus. :starspin

Not sure, and I don't think she knows. I think she was just quoting something off the Internet or something.

I said, would the prequel be about his life as a boy/teenager because that way you could cast a younger version of him. She said no, so I said if it is just going to be the Spartacus at the same age, they should just recast and then continue with the series and not do a prequel.

Don't know and I am not sure what a Prequel would be about. Not sure Spartacus' life was all that interesting before he became a slave but I am not familiar with his history prior to that.

This show has a lot of buzz around it and it is pretty clear, they are going to continue at some point with or without the main actor.

Yeah, I don't think a prequel is the works, because his past is pretty much already laid out in Episode 1.

Or maybe they're just going to focus on the other Gladiators like Dottore and Crixus, and how they became enslaved. Who knows.

I just did a google search and found this (BTW, I have a friend who was just diagnosed with this type of Cancer and Diverticulitis and he told me his doctor said it was one the easiest cancers to treat):

Starz to make 'Spartacus' prequel?
Monday, April 19 2010, 8:14am EDT
By Catriona Wightman, Entertainment Reporter

A prequel to Spartacus: Blood And Sand is rumoured to be in the works.

The television show's second season was postponed recently when it emerged that its star Andy Whitfield has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

New York Magazine has now claimed that the show's network Starz is developing a six-episode prequel series.

The move would mean that the sets and creative team could still be used until production on the second season of Spartacus begins.

Meanwhile, Spartacus writer Maurissa Tancharoen recently denied claims that the second season will not be filmed.

"Season two of Spartacus has NOT been cancelled," she wrote on her Twitter page. "Don't know where that rumor came from."

Maybe it is a prequel about some of the other characters?

Yeah, that is what I am thinking.

I'm on episode 1, but if this series is as good as people say, they probably have some characters that could carry their own 'mini-prequel' while the main star goes through Cancer treatment.

That would prevent the natives (fans) from being restless and keep the series in the public eye.

I always wanted to see Lucy Lawless topless when she was Xena the Warrior Princess. So I got to see it in Spartacus, and I was not impressed.

She should wear pasties. :laugh2:

Maybe we could learn about Varro and Crixus.

Also find out how Battiatus and Xena Warrior Princess got together and how they became the sexual deviants they are.

See, I find it weird that people say it started off slow. I am on the first episode and the gore, fighting and lovely women (and ones with no clothes to boot :laugh2: ) started off with a bang.

I had the opposite impression from the first episode, that there would be a bunch of senseless violence with no character development.

I definitely can't wait for the Gladiator fights.

Unfortunately, Final Exams are next week, so I may not be able to watch as much this weekend.

Yeah, I have noticed that but it's not something I would stop watching the show for.

My co-worker (who is female) that works in Accounting had me laughing. She was like, "I have never seen so many men with such great bodies in one TV show before" :laugh2: .

I was like okaaaay, I know why you watch the show :laugh2: .

first episode in the first 10 minutes had what 3 sex scenes and 10-20 beheadings/murders, deaths, I was hooked.

I agree, my favorite two from the series has been Viva Bianca as Ilithyia and Katrina Law as Mira. The entire series has been pretty awesome with a perfect mix of violence and sex. Not too much, not too little, with the perfect melding within a kickass storyline.

I didn't think Spartacus could get any more violent and gross until I was introduced to 'The Pit'.

After seeing about 4 episodes, I would be very interested in a Prequel about Doctore.

I've seen the entire first series...I think it was 13 episodes.
It was good enough to keep my attention all the way through.
