Pretty much every show needs to learn how to do a finale like Spartacus did. I won't spoil anything since some aren't there yet, but it's 5 stars and 10/10 in my book.

Last episode was out of the park. I don't see how they follow that up.

Great ending.

Agreed, Spartacus finale was everything everyone ever could hope for. Everything that people wanted to happen happened, save for a few minor things, but they can wrap that up next season.

I didn't think Spartacus could get any more violent and gross until I was introduced to 'The Pit'.

After seeing about 4 episodes, I would be very interested in a Prequel about Doctore.

Yea the Pit made me flinch which is unusual but when he hit that guy then stuck the knife to cut the face off. I was like dude that is crazy

The face peeling in the original scene was as over the top as I've maybe even seen.

That fight scene was the best of the entire series.

As it should have been.

Theocoles was a legend and he even looked like a legend of the arena. He had scars on scars on scars and was a giant of a man.

Imagine having to meet that guy in a dark alley?

Talk about your enforcer. :laugh2:

Classic was Crixus killing Xena warrior princess by aborting their child.

Then when Spartacus slashed Battiatus' neck, ewww I loved it.

Yeah, when I saw that the guy cuts people's faces off and wears them, that was nasty. I was eating some Jack in the Crack 99 cent tacos when I saw that scene and was surprised I didn't puke.

I wouldn't want to meet that guy anywhere. I still kind of think it is a little disingenuous that he had to fight 2 guys at the same time.

Thanks for spoiling that for me....

This is what I kind of think about the show.

I don't think Spartacus has a really strong storyline and I don't think the characters are the strength of the series.

What I suspect people watch the show for is the odd and outrageous situations that are presented throughout the course of an episode.

I mean, the last episode I saw, Batiatus was talking to Lucretia (his wife) in a hot tube full of naked woman and he casually starts having sex with one of them :laugh1: .

that is how they arouse each other

one episode, Lucretia is lying on her side talking to Battiatus as he hs being ridden by a slave girl

they were sexual deviants, not that there is anything wrong with that

as for the spoiler, sorry but you will have forgotten by the time you see that episode

Yeah, it seems so.

I went home and watched a little bit during break. I think I am on episode 6 or so and it looks like things (the rebellion) are moving a little faster then I suspected they would.

One theme that is very prominent throughout this show is that Life during this time wasn't very highly regarded.

By 100 BC or so, Roman historical accounts were becoming fairly accurate because keeping track of the historical record was a major passion in that culture. Data can be checked and cross-checked by mutilple accounts.

It's interesting to see the background on Spartacus.

Check it out.

I know this is broad-brush and you can find better accounts, but it's interesting nevertheless.
