Spears isn't signed through next year. His contract will end after the season.

No, I think we'll do better if we trade him in this year's draft.

We're more likely to get more for him later, when a team knows they really need a guy like that and have few (if any) viable alternatives.

I saw spears interviewed about a week ago on one of the local channels sportscast, and he was talking like he might be tradedHITEM94;3354731 said:Spears Hinting He's On The Block?

By protecting him with the original draft pick tender of $1.226 million, the Cowboys all but guaranteed Marcus Spears wouldn't sign an offer sheet as a restricted free agent.
But now that Spears has signed his deal, which will pay him just over $500,000 less than backups Stephen Bowen and Jason Hatcher this season, the Cowboys could trade him to another team for less than the first-round pick they used on him back in 2005.
Without offering any details, Spears tweeted the following this afternoon:
"I don't think I'll be leaving Dallas but if I do i will miss this place and I'll miss the true blue fans but whatever God has it will be"
Does he know something we don't?

It's a tough call, but I think a 4th would sway me. I might even get a DE with it.

Bah, I'd feel good about a 5th.

Talk about a project. And underachiever. Talk about potential.
Time to flinch or tempt fate.
Wade has too many unproven and young players to waste any more time with yew. Ah hope you git your wish and move on cause the experiment train has moved on down.
