Noticed Hatcher in there for Spears on several downs that were not clear passing downs. I wonder if BP is just about to make a switch there?

We're heading into the playoffs for sure now. Two obvious weak areas are the 3-4 and our secondary. What is the point of the 3-4 if Spears, Canty and Ferguson can't get pressure on the QB and the linebackers, besides Ware do little to help?
Couple that with the poor performance by Roy and Henry and we've got some bugs to work out.
Who would've thought our offense would be this solid?

I am thinking that BP and ZImmer are going to make some changes- they have to.

unless they change themselves out for competent defensive people, nothing else will matter

its blatantly obvious what (or who) the problem is

when the coaches decided to change how they attack...then we will see different results

and every week it is a different excsuse....but the playoffs are a single elimination tournament....and if we have to see Eli Manning again...and we play him the way we played him last time....we could get beat in our own house in our first real chance since 1996 to win a playoff game.

if hatcher and coleman can step it up along with carp and watkins...we could turn the corner on all of this...like i have been saying,,,upside is upside and it will be realized if you give some of them time...maybe they are about to turn the corner! if so we are in business...now if rivera could just block and julius would start running we would be ok!

Don't forget Parrish in the mix now that he's had 2 weeks of practice.

Rotating players to keep them fresh. Don't read to much into it.

BUT I saw Hatcher in there more then before- also in situations that he was not in before. Looked to me like he was cutting into Spears normal playing time a fair amount in the second half.

Once again, you will NEVER see consistent pressure from your 3 down linemen in a 3-4 deffense. It just doesn't happen.

I think Bill and Zimmer wanted more athlectic (sp) guys on the field due to M. Vick.

Hatcher does appear more active on getting to the passer. I'd love Spears and Canty to play like Too Tall but they are what they are. Just because it's the 3-4 doesn't mean they have to hold back on obvious passing downs.

However they had to stay at home some last nite to contain Vick. They aren't getting consistent pressur though. We just aren't the same without Ellis.

This shows everyone the importance of LBs in the 3-4 and I hope no one complains when and if we draft another 3-4 LB in the first should that happen. This system needs three pass rushing hybrid LBs.
