I've seen him on defense, he just hasnt done much.

Ratliff and Spears are by far the two most active of our DL's.

By far. I think we really know what Spears is now

Just for the record if the league is uncapped next year players will have to have accrued 6 years in the league to become unrestricted free agents. That means Marcus Spears will not be a free agent although his contract will be up same goes for Demarcus.

might be trying Spears at NT for a potential move to bring someone else in before the trade deadline, but I doubt it.

Like someone said, probably just experimenting in the event of future roster shuffles.

Good news. I like how Bowen plays.

Maybe CuJo takes Siavi's active spot?

CuJo is a pipe dream.

Next move we see will likely be him to IR.

i dont probably means we spend another top round draft choice probably a # 1 pick on another defensive player, while we need a young top OT or OG
and a wr or two.

I would like to see Olshansky take a few reps at NT too, especially on goal line, he's just hard to move.

For the record, Spears will resign after the season is over. Spears is dominant on the run. Spears isn't too much of a pass-rusher but he's athletic enough to deflect ball, possibly intercept. But the only way I see the Cowboys gettin rid of spears is if the Cowboys trade for a true Nose Tackle (i.e. Shaun Rogers) and move Ratliff out to the End. That's the only way I see Spears being gone next year.

*Facepalm*

Ratliff is mediocre as an End. He used to play that position, remember? He was actually our swing back up when Fergie went down and Rat took over as starter.

Ratliff is more effective as an NT (but also unconventional) because he has the quickness to shoot and beat the gaps between the slower centers and guards. As a DE, he has to take on quicker tackles, and hold them up for the OLBs to rush. A 3-4 end's primary responsibility is to eat space, protect the OLBs, and play the run. Those aren't ratliff's strengths.

Sure, we can put Ratliff at end and let him penetrate instead of eat up space, but that will make our primary rushers (Ware and Spencer) job a lot harder.

Rossum took Cletis Gordon's roster spot, so we don't need to de-activate anyone new because of him.

If Siavii is ever inactive, it'll be because guys like Jason Williams, Mike Hamlin and Curtis Johnson are finally healthy, not because we signed Rossum.

Yes we do because we also have RW, Felix and Sensbaugh coming back.
Rossum > Gordon
RW > Ogletree
Felix > Chauncey Washington or whoever
Sensbaugh > ?

Do other teams have fans that cry for moving a guy who made the probowl at his position?

Or to ask it another way. Do other teams have stupid fans?

The key phrase in what I said was "because of him."
